:-k intersting though you have to took at the fact its by Bennett

You're kidding.

And if the exact same article was written by, say, Warren Ryan?

Cheers.

I'm sure if Michael Hagan came out and said Joey should be captain then you would take that as bias as well.

You didn't even read it did you.

It was about Bowman FFS.

Cheers.

Obviously it also concerned Lockyer.

If not, then why is it in this thread in the first place?

How does an article showing Bennett's beliefs on captaincy and his opinion on the Paul Bowman issue suggest the article shows bias or is concerned with Lockyer?

All it shows is that stranger dissmissed the artcile immediately simply because of who wrote it, rather than it's content.

Cheers.

Bennett has previously stated that Lockyer leads by actions. He is in that article saying that actions speak louder than words.

So it's helping Lockyer.

I dont want to give you a history lesson on league, but back in the 70s and 80s league was a very violent game than what it is today.
Today EVERYONE is under the microscope.

So was Tallis a good leader then ???

Lockyer will be selected as captain for 2005 and beyond. Selector Bob McCarthy said as much in the sunday papers last weekend.
And Lockyer will be leader for the bext 5 yrs, where as Johns will be lucky to see out the next 2 yrs.
Lockyer led the last 2 roo tours SUCCESSFULLY in 2003 and 2004 ( i dont care and neither do the selectors about "margin of victory" )

All counts against Johns.

different type of leader, he was good, but not great like a Meninga or Lewis or Fulton.

again, different type of leader to Johns.
Every leader is different.
I would have been happy for either. But IF pressed (as you are doing) then i would choose Johns over Tallis.

1997 does not count...so lockyer has 2 and johns has one. IF 1997 does count then its 3-2 to lockyer

The winners of SL in 97 didn't get rings. So Lockyer only has 2 rings.

Also SL was the fake competition in 97 which is why all SL records have a * after them. ARL 97 records don't.

oh here we go.
Lockyer has won 3 GFs to Johns' 2.
Brisbane backed up in 1998 and won it all, even smashing newcastle IN newcastle 28-4 or something on a friday night.
Where were the knights in 1998? Oh yeah, drug tainted.

Speaking of falling asleep.....NEwcastle did that again in the 1998 semis.
Led the roosters 15-0 at half time AT HOME and lost
Led the dogs by a fair margin only to lose in extra time.
Ahhh those "mighty" knights and their tendancy to fall asleep in the 2nd half of games. And some of you knights clowns think they dont.

It's either Johns 2-3 Lockyer

OR

Johns 1-2 Lockyer

I don't deny it, I simply know that alot of other teams, including the Broncos, are guilty of it too.

yes johns magic...i made a mistake (typo) and corrected it.

Knights are the team in the comp WELL KNOWN for blowing leads. More so than any other.

Newcastle was injury riddled. With 4 rounds to go Newcastle still had a 4-point lead on the competition table. More than 3/4 of their team was out. The Broncos have 4 players out, and lose a match we hear "Impossible to win since we are so injury riddled", when they didn't have close to as many injuries as Newcastle did in the 2nd half of 97.

And drugs? You're kidding aren't you?

MacDougall - medication for a life threatening illness. Doesn't take it he dies. I don't remember you criticising Renouf for taking a banned substance for his illness.

O'Davis - A legal substance 3 months before he tested positive. The NRL admitted they stuffed up and forgot to forward the changes to the drug code onto the players. So how was he supposed to know.

Richards - He was a cheat. One player. He was sacked by the club, and he hardly made a huge difference to the teams performances.

No shit dickhead.

MacDOugall can't produce any testosorone naturally

So why should Renouf be allowed to take banned substances for his illness, and MacDougall shouldn't be allowed to take one for his?

And you say you aren't biased towards Broncos?

MacDougall doesn't take it he dies.

well then why at the time, was his medical condition NOT made known to the poeple who matter? If he had NOTHING to hide the he should have gone to ASDA or the NRL and explained his situation BEFORE it all blew up in his face DICKHEAD.
