How good were the Canterbury 4???? Just a shame we didn't have back line to help them win the GF. And how good was it to see a young Caylo iceing the game??? One of my fav Parra wins.

did Dean Pay make any tackles that weren't around the head?

I was amazed at how dirty Paul Cariage was in that game. Every tackle he made, he came down with an elbow to the face. God knows how he got away with it all. If only he got suspended for a few weeks, we might have held on against the dogs.

Yeah was one of the best defensive games from us I've seen. I suppose I just noticed cariage alot more because he's a muppet. Can't remember what year it was but there was a game where we belted the sharks at Parra Stadium. We were literally sending them backwards. Very one-sided but would love to watch that again.

I watched it this morning for the first ever time since being at the game.
Fair dinkum.........if that game was played these days, there would be 15 blokes on report.......shared between both teams.
It was thuggery and ruthlessness at its best.

I haven't seen a game as tough as that since then tbh.

There was another great game against the Bulldogs in 2001 when we were neck and neck. All of a sudden our defence just seemed to lift and you could really hear a very loud smacking sound every time the Eels made a tackle on the Dogs. It was awesome.

Morans hit on JT wasn't even a penalty  Now all you have to do is come in contact with the kicker and it's a penalty.

Weren't the play the balls so quick? There was no trying to turn the player over on his back, they all just got on with it. Wish that was brought back and enforced by the refs.
