with a wage like that, he'll resign with the tigers again near the end of this deal.

Good decision by the tigers.

Heighington, Marshall, Farah, Gibbs, Lawrence all signed up for long term contracts. Thats a bloody core to build a team around.

Need a genuinely decent fullback more than anything now. Lui and Moltzen between them are good enough to look after the 7 gig.

Need two quality props. if you look through the other teams we've got the worst prop rotation in the comp. Payton is just about done and the more I see of Fifita the more I see him as a second rower. Gibbs and Galloway would struggle to get in most other teams starting 13.

Could not disagree more. Gibbs is an outstanding defensive prop, Fifita is a huge prospect and Galloway on song was pushing for rep selection. Woods looks good coming through as well.

From Chris Lawerence, on why he signed a 5 year deal.
Source: Fox Sports News

"I know with a lot of boys in the Toyota Cup, we've got some really good talent and I think we'll have a strong group the next three, four and five years, and that made my decision easier knowing the club was heading in the right direction."

Pretty impressive statement. I can't see Sheens or anybody for that matter leaving the club if the club wants to keep them.

Pretty impressive retention from the Tigs really. It gives me confidence that we can keep who we want to keep these days. I hate to say it but a big part of that is Sheens (and Marshall/Farah). The only regular first grader off contract this year is Lui (I'm not sure of his contract status).
Fingers crossed for James Graham.

Pretty sure lui had his contract extended last year- for 3 more??

I think the Tigers are locking in long term deals in case a new team or 2 come in - they will obviously target marquee players- We lost Laffranchi and Prince like that in the past...

Its interesting to revisit things with a couple of years perspective isnt it....

Even praise for Sheens at the time and his recruitment strategy....

Lol even in hindsight I cant see the premature ejaculating over Lawrence , only had speed and Benji in his favour , the rest of his game was average at best .. now he has nothing.

Bullshit
He was looking likely to be an Origin and international center for years to come, early all his game lacked was his D which rectified in time.

He had benji?

Well...it is a team game, someone has to pass him the f**ken ball

Two weeks later he pops a hip

I'm a bit disappointed in all this Lawrence hate that's flooding out at the moment. We know what Lawrence is capable of and while he might be in a form slump at the moment, there's not really many of the club's players setting the world on fire. I reckon that after the great start the season, for some fans it may have set some unrealistic expectations of how the first grade side should be performing. The Tigers were always going to struggle during the Origin period with Farah and Woods out so I think it's far too early to be bringing the knives out. I expect things to turn around after Round 19 when Anasta is removed from the starting lineup and we see Austin string a couple of games together at pivot.

This. It's easy to say in hindsight that he has been poor since signing on long term, but the reason why was not foreseeable at the time he was signed up. If he'd been let go then the knives would have been out for sure.

He has been in a form slump for 3 years his current form is the best its been in a long time which, is laughable. The fact is a player of the future in Koro is being lost and we have Nofo who according to even the great Gus Gould could will be a centre.

Fans know Lawrence is overpaid vs performance and given we are losing a young talent they take it out on these players. Moltzen just hasnt been playing to cop the brunt of it.

THIS !!! Losing Koro because we are persisting with an under performing Lawrence is inexcusable !!!

I remember arguing with a mate that we had the best young centre in the game and that he should be playing Origin. How wrong I was.
