Personally i think Sironen should be 5/8 and Anasta probably dropped. I just don't think Anasta is good enough to play in the forwards. I don't see anyway he gets dumped though so no idea what will happen.

Anasta was great yesterday.

He will never get the praise he deserves it seems.

He controlled the tempo just as much as Robbie yesterday

getting better.

Lawrence is going to hit some good form again when Sironen comes back.

Simona as well.

With Sirro & Fults we essentially have three generals in the middle of the park with a forward with pivots skills on each side of the park to boot

I honestly thought Lawrence had one of his best games in years yesterday.

made 150 metres, 2 tackle breaks, an offload, 20 tackles, no missed tackles.

He has got his defence issues sorted and he isn't shying away from work now. I believe his confidence in his body is picking up and he's playing with less fear of injury now than he has in a long time.

if he continues this sort of form, we will be starting to score plenty of tries on the fringes of the ruck on both sides of the field.

If only he could get someone other than Anasta serving him the pill

He looks to be getting a little confidence back. However he was stood up a number of times yesterday. Yes he did well to scramble and drag his man down, but it still created a half break and soon some of those half breaks will start leading to tries. His acceleration still isn't quite there.

I don't want to see him dropped, I just hope he keeps improving.

I have just watched the replay and took note of players after reading the comments here, beforehand.

What a game he had, his defense was outstanding and he settled the play well. One thing I have always thought about Lawrence as a good centre is that he never passes to his winger if that winger has no where to go, yesterday he took the tackles because Richards simply had no where to go. I think others may see him being tackled with a man outside him and say 'he's a hog/he's no good/he doesn't pass it' without looking at the bigger picture or at least the wide angle view.

I'm not certain he was stood up too many times. I think he gave the opposite centre a look inside so as to prevent them from going around him on the outside, which is bloody intelligent thing to do if you don't think you've got the pace to run them down, as you allow the cover defence to help make the tackle.

Madunit, do you see Sironen coming back at 5/8 this year? The reason I ask is I was looking at the team on paper and Anasta and Thompson seem to be the weakest in their individual positions. Credit where due, I think Thompson is actually going along OK but Anasta, while solid, is just not potent enough in attack.

If Siro does come back soon, do you and others see him slotting into 5/8 and taking Anastas spot or perhaps will he go into the second row and take Thompsons spot. I'd be interested to know what people think.

As I say all the rest of the players seem to fit their current positions and I am just looking for that last little bit to strengthen the side...

At the start of the year I believed Sironen should have been five-eighth for this year alone, or until Moses came into the side.

But I dare say we'll play him in the back row and make him the link man to Lawrence, which was essentially the same thing Ellis was.

Sironen imo has better passing skills than Ellis, so Lawrence should find the stripe more often running off Sironen's hip

Probably Sita.

Rightly or wrongly

I couldn't drop him at this point. He is a weapon. In saying that I like the 3 props in Tapau, Gavet and Ava on the bench.

We have the best depth I have ever seen in our pack. Does Halatau make the team if we are at full strength ? How about Fulton - he is a great player but is he playing better the Sita ? Can you really hold Siro back ?

Glad I am not making the call.

Considering both the NRL and State Cup side sit in second we have some decent depth

Sue was also in great form...where does he fit?

I don't share the Sironen love but if I had to choose one of the current bench to make way it would be Ava. Sue would challenge Sita when fit. There is no place in our team for Fulton and Halatau in my opinion. 1 small forward only.

With the form of Bodene and the price difference in terms of future Fulton could find himself in State Cup at one point
