I'm not prepared to judge Lawrence too much on the performance against Warriors. Some centres make atrocious wingers.

Jonathan Wright, Will Chambers, Mahe Fonua, Stewart Mills, Steve Matai ....

Thats not to say that he didn't play crap though. But being out of position contributes to that. Lawrence is a capable enough one on one defender, but he also, stupidly, had the job of protecting Brooks in defence, which is what created so many gaps on his side. He isn't good enough a defender to do that.

He constantly charged up to do Brooks' tackling for him, which left huge gaps on his edge.

And now Lawrence is relying on Braith to create the same opportunities Benji did.

And somehow that's Lawrence's fault?

Anyone who thinks Lawrence will ever get back to decent form is seriously deluded. He can barely run.

It's really sad that injury has killed him, but he is simply not good enough for FG anymore and we can't afford to carry him.

Yep, this - I was astounded at how poor he'd become, but Potter must take some of the blame

Its dumb to have a winger cover an inside defender. Inside defenders should be protecting those outside them in a competent sliding defence

He has zero first step acceleration anymore.

I have seen a few occasions when he has been hit by the perfect ball but been that step behind with not enough speed to make the bust through the line.

ESL calls for Rowdy for mine because sadly I think he is done as an NRL level player

With the way our reshuffling due to injury goes we need Centres who can play on the wing. We have back rowers who can cover centre but we need our centres to easily switch to wing if needed. FMD, Simona is the perfect fit for left centre and especially after the warriors game I feel he should have this spot locked down for the near future.

If all this talk of Inu signing is correct then I'll be very happy with our centre pairing.

Couldn't agree more,he has shown no signs of improvement at all this year, and he was supposedly fit after a full offseason of training.

and he's relying on Anasta for decent opportunities....

Some people here reckon that Potter is forced to pick Anasta each week because of the money he is getting paid....

If that is the case, then I don't hold out much hope of Lawrence not getting picked as he would be on twice as much as Braith.

Should be tried as a back rower/lock before he's discarded. You don't lose class, he may just need a new position.

His days at centre are over. Even in England he wouldnt cut it.

Lock seems his only option. Great front on defender, good lateral movement, strong runner, good pace for backrower. Cant be too hard to adapt to defensive structures. Put on 5kg to 100kg.

Can see it working and certainly worth a shot.

He would have to take a big pay cut to play lock quite frankly as I would rather retain Sue & BMM over converting Rowdy.

If he wasn't a local junior the conversation would be as simple as ineffective, always injured, cut him

Lawrence won't get dropped from the side. It's something that annoys me about Potter but also makes me respect him enormously. He chooses a position for a player and he sticks with them for fairly lengthy periods. The only real issue I have is if Simona gets pushed out of the left centre position. He's scored two tries in like 60 minutes of game time so far....he is in for a massive season
