Lawrence needs another off season to really recover and prepare well. He won't get back to his best during the season. I think he is starting to show some glimpses of his former self (a bit more confidence running lines). I wouldn't be rushing to dump him and i really don't like the idea of moving him into the 2nd row (like you guys need anymore undersized forwards).

Teddy reninds me a bit of McKinnon , does all the fullback things right but lacks that yard of pace in attack to make a difference. Im sure its just confidence with his knee which will return over time. Even Matty Bowen got back to his best but it did take some time.

He does all the fullback things right except he slips over all the time. Has anyone else noticed this? I don't think i've ever seen a fullback slip over and juggle the ball as much as Tedesco. He is also a pretty damn average support player and doesn't have the ball skills to make up for it. You really need one of the other.

That could be related to his turf toe this season and recovering from the ACL surgery.

In NSW Cup he was a superb support player. This has stopped since the turf toe, it has also really affected his gate and how he can put the power down, he is trying to run the power off the balls of his feet contact and the boots don't grip properly.

I think Potter is taking the opportunity of his reduced capacity to try and teach him a bit of ball playing and extra man options and he is slowly improving. It is hard to get it done with such an unpredictable and sometimes utterly diabolical playmaker inside you though.

Be interesting to see him in 2014

There was a game at leichardt against Melb in 2010 (I think) where Lawrence outsprinted Slater off a short side scrum play. Although he does seem to have lost pace it is too early to write off a player who has been so good for so long previously.

Gronkathon- I agree with your observation re Potter try to teach teddy some ball playing. You could tell however in the warm up on Monday that the knee us still not right. He struggles to break into full stride, much like Lawrence.

I think Brooks will give Lawrence and Tedesco much better service next season ( compared to what's been dished up to them in 2013)

I think moving to the forwards would be a waste without at least trying to fix his lower back and hammy woes first. Maybe he could try to shed a few kilos as any excess bulk will just increase the pressure on his hamstrings. Maybe some yoga may help him. If you can't loosen up his muscles, sprint training will just aggravate the problem.

So true about his support play , he was so unbelievably busy backing up . He looked quicker as well so that turf toe thing could be right Gronk.

It is also why I am probably being too harsh in my assessment of Rowdy, not giving full credence to his injuries

Lawrence will be back rested and free of injury next year. An earlier suggestion that he now be rested to have surgery and rehabilitation is a good one. There is no point in playing him now. He is an essential part of the future of the club.

They were talking about Lawrence on 2sm yesterday, apparently it's pretty common knowledge he needs ankle surgery & it is affecting his play. Which "hopefully" explains his lack of pace etc. Not sure if he'll see out the year before he goes in for surgery on it.

Thanks for that,it pains me to watch a real flyer not being able to out run a big forward.

lol at some of you blokes.

I said a while back that when he runs he isn't striding out as far as he should on one leg and he was favouring it. I didn't know the cause, but he was obviously hampered by something physical or mental (or both).

Turns out he has been playing injured all along.

Im hopefull he can go in for surgery & be back in time ready to rip into a full off season of traning. A complete injury free off season is what he really needs to get his body right. Lose bulk, core work, yoga whatever, just get that body right. He is such a damaging player when fully fit, hopefully he can get his body right & get confidence back in himself that he wont breakdown & return back to the Rowdy of old.

What dogshit he has turned out to be.
Defensively slow. Exploited twice in 5 mins.
He needs to go after that half of football.

About as good as Koroibete in defence but offering nothing in attack. Hoping he turns it around but not confident...

Times up mate , mentor some players in state cup until your pending retirement at years end. Thanks for the good days and your club loyalty Chris.
