You can lead an active lifestyle without attending a gym.

Queen cop out.

Nah nah nah nah, but you are right. Us living longer every decade has nothing to do with us being healthier, nothing at all. Sure, we may be living longer, but life isn't as good anymore, not like the good ol' days.

In the 50's, 1900, 1850's, the world was a much better place. There was no disease, everybody ate the highest quality vegetables, fruits, & lean meats, & everybody participated in calisthetics, & ran 40kms a day. Not like these days. Sure, we may have lived 20 years less..... but we had better quality life!, health had nothing to do with it.

There were no mental illnesses, everybody was jolly, & sat around drinking tea, exchanging witticisms whilst wearing the finest silks. But not these days!

Do you hear yourself speak?

I might kill you tonight.

We don't eat healthier, lifestyle diseases are occurring at a much higher rate than ever. are you saying obesity and diabetes don't reduce quality of life?

I'm obese. I'd rather be obese right now with TV, movies, videogames, books, easy food, free healthcare, THE INTERNET, with all the learning's of the world at my fingertips in an instant. Sure, physically the quality is worse, but mentally it is multitudes better. Insanely better, a multiple inconceivable by the human mind better. The physical side isn't the only factor in life quality.

The gym is f**kin boring, I went through phase when I was younger going to the gym but got over it
I much prefer staying fit by playing sport socially, unfortunately as I got older it's a lot harder finding the time as every one has work and other commitments and now I'm unfit as f**k......plus I'm lazy and would rather just get wasted every weekend instead of worrying about fitness

I wish I was skinny but I'm way to lazy/I love food too much.

Lots of things would be better for me if I was less of a fatmerkin. Back, diabetes, knee, skin. Ect.

I enjoy the gym, but I think it would be boring if not for my personality. I'm a stubborn f**ker so I like setting targets and pushing myself to get there. Plus it's nice to just take out some frustration on a punching bag or even just running while listening to music. It feels good afterwards too.

As for the other topic, on the whole we may not be eating better as a society, but we're more aware of our health than at any other time in history. There are always fat merkins who do nothing but eat shit but on the whole society is much more involved in health and fitness than ever before. Isn't Cliffy a PT? Living proof of that tbh. That job never existed until recently.
