I don't think Drew was trying to make you feel like a bad person for not being on meds. I think he was genuinely concerned for you, and the people around you. Being around someone who is bi-polar refusing to take meds can be very difficult. My Dad thinks he has all under control without them just because he has a few good days, but barely remembers the bad days. Everybody else remembers them though. I think you should do what makes you happy and comfortable, as long as you're not endangering yourself or anyone else. I never saw anything that he wrote as telling you what to do, it's just an opinion.

I do well enough disguising my depressive moods from friends and family and haven't killed myself yet.

There's a difference between how people who have taken meds before and stopped are off their meds and how people who have never taken them are.

I know you were asking a question, twizz didn't make it clear who he was referring to, hence why I quoted you, if you got your head out of your arse for one second you would have understood that. Then you got all pissy about your right to diss him, like knowing someone personally gives you the right to attack them publicly and now you talk about being civil. Lol

Oh good gracious!

Firstly, if you knew it was a question, then why did you bite so hard? I said NOTHING about Massoud until you decided to poke your nose into something that wasn't your business.

Secondly, it sounds more like your head is in the proverbial by the manner in which you've decided to get personal rather than debate the facts. Why? Because you jumped the gun pretending to 'troll' and have been made to look a fool.

Thirdly, I didn't get pissy at all; one might suggest that was you who did.

Fourthly, you accused me of bad mouthing him:

I will not have you bad mouth Massoud, this guy did the graveyard shift for a month, without pay in order to land his job. It's their bosses who are corrupt, the front line journalist could write a perfectly balanced piece and it will make no difference.

... which I did not, and you claimed that somehow you had some sort of 'relationship' to him that meant you were granted the right to defend him against people asking a question. I simply corrected your misunderstanding by suggesting that, actually, I had more than a passing acquaintance with him (which you don't have) and that if I chose to make a comment about him, I could on the basis that I do know him and am entitled to say what I'd like.

You have completely flown off the handle on something which was as simple as a question. Congratulations for the overreaction of the year

Not taking interest, you tried to push me to take medication as if it was the only option and suggested I was hurting the people around me by not taking it.

You acted like an authority on it based only on the fact you had a friend who suffered from it.

Alba understands very clearly why you apparently do not. I have no malice to you, and I have no intent to make you feel bad. But I do have some very close friends who have the same condition as you and I have seen it destroy their lives; so yes, that does make me something of an authority because I've seen it with my own two eyes and have sat in the doctors surgery as he prescribed their medication and detailed the effects of not taking it. My only concern was you didn't suffer the same fate as they.

You can take or leave that as you wish.

Lol, I defended him because II know what it's like to be a young journalist working for Newslimited and what happens to the articles you write. I also know from my short hand teacher who taught him what he did to get to where he is. You read too much into it.

The warning was supposed to be slightly facetious which was lost on you.

As for trolling you that was by bringing up your religion, personally the fact you attend church every Sunday makes me have no interest in anything you have to say about mental health. That's my opinion, if it offends, I don't care, to me it calls into question your credibility and ability to reason.

For your information, lots of people in my family suffer from bi polar, I suffer from it myself. So if you get to call yourself an authority on it, I should too and my authority would mean more.

I know what he did too. Did you read his Aust Idol article? It was brilliant. A great article about the experience of the who event etc. He is / was a phenomenal writer. Very gifted. I'm not suggesting he didn't put the hard yards in either; he busted his ass.

But he has succumbed to Ruperts song. And that's a tragedy.

lol. You're backtracking now. Keep peddling.

Sure. Telling you to stay on meds, which is medical advice to anyone with bi polar, is instantaneously disregarded because of my religious faith.

FFS, talk about a straw man argument. If I'm a Christian and downplay medical science, I'm called ignorant. If I'm a Christian and suggest you listen to current medical science, my advice is called into question.

Well done :thumb

As you wish Cliffy. Its your life. If you don't want help, that's your issue. I'm sorry for actually caring about whether you are well or not.

I've never ever taken meds, at least get your facts right before making judgement.. Also have you read anything on the side-effects or about how it makes some people worse? Just agreeing with the doctors without doing research is wrong.

I didn't ask for your opinion or your help.

My theory is that everyone's a bit mental, I know I am and religion certainly falls into that category.

Do you see the problem here?

f**k off DL, whatever I want to go on in this thread will go on in this thread, and right now I want to tell Drew I don't like him and he has no right to tell me what to do about a disorder I have no issue with having. The highs are better than any drug induced high could possibly be and they're free. You wouldn't understand because you haven't experienced them.

Yes, I know lithium is a massive drug that impacts on the body greatly. I also know if you get the meds wrong it makes matters worse... until they get the right ones for you. I also know some bi polars can't get medical help because their body doesn't respond to it either.

I'm not ignorant, despite your best attempts to make me out to be :)

I didn't ask for your opinion or your help.

Then don't post about it on a public forum if you don't want anyone commenting on it. And perhaps realise that when you post on your highs, it affects the way people respond to you.

Take it outside ladies

Rowr, careful ;-)

My theory is that everyone's a bit mental, I know I am and religion certainly falls into that category.

And you're entitle to believe it just as I'm entitled to believe ;-)

Do you see the problem here?

You don't like me eh? Ok. Good to establish that an attempt to help someone on an internet forum garners instant dislike from you. Good job! :thumb

BTW, I didn't tell you what to do; only that I think its in your best interests to get on meds.

Lol, I don't dislike you because you attempted to help me, I dislike tyouhou because you acted like an authority on the disorder, when you're not. If you don't want people to give you advice about giving Christianity the click, don't post about going to church on a public forum.
