As an individual, I quite like Tim Brown. Solid player, toughens up the midfield. It's more of the team formation and playing style that his tough style can be a bit hard to swallow. Like I say, I think they're struggling with Greenacre, all off season they were talking about getting a target man, Greenacre really isn't that. He's a poacher, who needs the ball in front of him not above him, and what the Phoenix have is width in their attack and a lot of crossing. Greenacre needs supporters flooding into the box for it to be effective. Even in more centralised positions, the likes of Brown and Lia could go the aerial route too much.
To be honest, I don't have an issue with any of them, Brown, Lia and McKain. They're all good scrappers in midfield who turnover a lot of opposition ball. I just worry sometimes about the balance of the team when Ifill plays a central strikers role he comes deep leaving Greenacre isolated which doesn't work. They showed signs with Ifill on the left midfield position on Wednesday and Barbarouses staying up with Greenacre of things working a lot better.
