Sick of this sh*t! This club has been split down the middle. We'll never be succesfull on or off the field until it's sorted out. We need professional administrators running this club, whether or not the current board are that is certainly a matter of opinion.

Just wish the people intrusted to run our great club remember there not bigger than the club. Please sort your sh*t out so we can get back to the business of winning premierships.....well trying anyway!

Glad to see you finally got off the couch and stuck your head out the window....

Bigfella has forgotten to take his medication. It's either that or the meds his on ain't strong enough and needs to up the dosage to maintain that dampening effect over fantasy, illusion, delusion and the BIAS that comes with being married to such ailments.
maybe you could give him something out of your private pharmacy :D

 Wow, there's a couple of people that really can't handle any critical comments (even justified ones) being made of their beloved Board...

I don't remember anyone on here sticking up for Fitzy (or Ovo's mob) prior to the last elections to anywhere near the extent that people are sticking their necks out to portray the current custodians positively?

Maybe because it wasn't justified then, but might be now??? Short memory. Even you weren't condusive to the previous regime.
Keep sticking your ever sharpened, ill-informed knife in Bart at every opportunity.
I'm sure it makes you feel better.
A little more balance and you may regain the respect you had as an insightful, informed poster that you were regarded as a couple of years ago, at least in my eyes.

Otherwise continue with your incessant negativity. Good luck to you if that's the way you feel.

I wasn't claiming that I was supportive of the previous regime. And I wasn't referring to you in my reference to "a couple of people" in this thread.

For the record, I think your posts in this thread/on the issue lately Suity have been very balanced, more balanced than they had been for some time.

Again, you fail to understand me here Suit. I'm having a laugh at the "couple of people" in this thread, who seem to get their knickers in a knot whenever a critical comment comes from anyone. Imo there are only two people over-reacting in this way in this thread.

Again Suity, you fail to understand my postings. I care not for respect of individuals on an internet message board.

Funny how you try to pull me up for one comment no more negative that simply highlighting the reactions of others, yet you let go so many comments earlier in the thread by others that were far more critical of the club/regime/whatever.

I must have got under your skin at some point to get the constant reaction and assumptions you provide to any post of mine. So good luck with that...

By my advice (to you or anyone) is just to read any of my posts with a tongue firmly in cheek (pity there's not a 'smilie' for that), because they're simply passing opinions and I don't take internet respect anywhere as nearly as others obviously do. Or simply don't reply and I might eventually go away ;-).

:nwave:

Although, to be fair I just wasn't won over by the challengers. I didn't have a hatred for DF and the Telecrap nor the challengers "representatives" on here could convince me that I did.

Jodeci it's pretty clear where you stand on things and I totally respect that and indeed you. You know that. But it's not entirely cool to call those who question the current mob as puppets, when you could very well be labelled the same only on the other side of the political fence.

The Board will no doubt be retained save Caylo and perhaps one other and I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

John Kolc may very well have an agenda because of his history with the club, but you cannot deny what he said today was not valid. Maybe the board should stop and read what was printed this morning and take advice from it.

This.

Yep.

That's all I want from them as well.
They were all happy to listen before the last election.
But they have been far from perfect since. Not diabolical like some will try and lead us to believe, but they have made mistakes.
I think that we mostly (but not all) have a good bunch of people running the joint at the moment, and it has been a pleasant change from the past administration.
But they can also learn from the mistakes they have made.
I hope they can see this.

Suity

Take out the bolded part and I agree. It has been a change. One could say it has been eventful but pleasant is a bit of a stretch.

Having said that change is all anyone voted for anyhow. ;-)

On the front page it looks like the Parra club forum is second only to the St George Forum (which now includes all old posts from a Jubilee Avenue forum)? And the Parra Forum now has twice as many posts as the next nearest club forum.

Seems like it's being used plenty on those simple stats... perhaps by different people, but hardly used less than it had been before?

Been on here seven years Bart and really the stats haven't changed much since then...... outside of the Jubilee Avenue posts the forum has always been the strongest due to the lack of other options. The posters may have changed but it probably has more to do with quantity over quality. Outside of Tim Smith, 3P, the board both old and new, who the halves will or should be, Tahu, the level of crapness of various players in the team and various spoof threads about who is going to amazingly sign with the club based on pretty much nothing other than a "guaranteed but unnameable" source there isn't much happening on the forum.....

Maybe you should stand down as "Super Moderator" then.

So many?
Can you give us numbers?
LU must be cranky themselves, if the numbers are dropping because LU gives Fishy the Lolz.

Suity

Usual suspects, like flies to sh*t really.... the numbers keep climbing, the quality declines. No wonder fishy laughs.

Maybe you and your four or five mates who turn every thread into the making the same rhetorical points in the absence of any factual analysis have bumped up the count?

Certainly the technique of quoting each other's posts to agree with each other would inflate the tally.

You seriously need to learn to quote people so we all know who you are talking about.

I'll take your word on the stats Big C, I haven't been here quite as long as you, nor in a moderator role in the Eels forum.

No other club forums seem to be catching up in terms of posts, so the amount of use certainly isn't reflecting any decline.
Usual suspects, like flies to sh*t really.... the numbers keep climbing, the quality declines. No wonder fishy laughs.
And I have to agree with your comments regarding quality and nothing much happening too... I know I've been enjoying the forums less in recent years than in the many years before that. (And before Suity gets in, I know the "quality" of my own posting here has declined accordingly in that time too ;-)).

For what it's worth I put the shift down just to the increase in publicity (both good and bad) the team got in 2009, around the elections and back room change mixed with that incredible run home. More publicity equals more interest, more interest equals more forum members and posts (and quantity), which can equal a dilution in quality of discussions, and people from the former days not using the forums as they once were. The forums as victims of their own popularity, plus the rise of facebook as an online community destination?

But there's nothing around quite like this place for Parra fans. The other options all give many more headaches and are much harder to navigate and enjoy. If I never get to say this to you guys on a future match day, well done to you, Twiz, Stags and Jess for keeping this place rolling on over all this time, and in fostering all the quality and fun we've enjoyed over the years :thumn.
