As a self confessed softy for the retro "original" jerseys the above Magpies jersey looks nice but would be perfect if they removed the white sides.

Love the idea of Wests playing in only Wests colours for their home games and hopefully vice versa for the Balmain side.

Yeah that's the one!! I remember reading the article and thinking to myself "but there's only 4" but then i thought to myself again that maybe they were gonna wear something special for the Birchgrove game or something. I dunno...

No NRL game will be played at Birchgrove.

NSWRL between Magpies and Soufs maybe... or Wests v Balmain (one of them can't remember), but no NRL game.

Nice jerseys but I'm not a fan of the AFL style numbers.

They arent AFL style numbers, its another historical aspect to the jersey.

It was necessary to put the number in a white box in the days when we wore the strip with the 'thin thick thin' horizontal white hoops right around the jumper, the black number wouldve been illegibe otherwise.
From the early 20's to the 60's, they mainly had a black jumper with either one solid white hoop, or the thin thick thin hoops....several teams in the early days wore jumpers with black numbers on a white patch.

The traditional coloured shorts are actually black. The bars on the lateral sides of the shirt aren't great, but as long as we have 2/3 myrtle and 1/3 cardinal bars I'm happy.

It's the sides I dislike most. Just remove them and our jersey is perfect. The shorts- well, I'd still like to see us alternate the black with the whites.

2008 home one is the best one, the rest are terrible.

The rest are just retro merchandising ones, only the home jersey will be used of those pictures. The ones without pics yet released are the on-field ones. I'm actually quite sure most of the ones listed on that forum link have been on sale for a year or more.

it is said that the 1945 jersey of the roosters will be used against the dragons in the anzac day clash... to 'honor' the veterens...

the exact thing said at sydney gameday is 'Roosters 1945 Commemorative Jersey. Out of respect for the veterans, this jersey will not be released with sponsors and will remain as seen below or instore. I do believe they mean the actual jersey that the Roosters will be playing in will not be for sale, and the commerative jersey currently for sale will remain, without sponsors etc.
