I'm sure we'll find something to bicker about. Afterall, the McGregor and hook years have seen almost universal support on this forum in the condemnation of these two.Now what are we going to talk about?

we loved Harry too, maybe just before your time. Our online DNA consists of vocal fans who are loud and passionate about the club, who desperately want success and who are frustrated since 2010; that is a difficult fan base for any coach to keep happy.
In my lifetime I can only recall three coaches Roy Masters, David Waite and Wayne Bennett who seemed to manage to get the faithful on board.
Found this little gem: https://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/teams/st-george-dragons/coaches.htmlwe loved Harry too, maybe just before your time.
Geez Norm Provan did ok hey
Ken Kearney with >80% win ratio over 142 games over 7 years in total also did ok!Geez Norm Provan did ok hey
Bennett got rid of McGregor as the fitness man because he had his own.Your first three paragraphs are great, but your fourth?
You say "too soon" to bring McGregor back, implying that he should come back at some stage. My question is why?
He was the the trainer when Brownie was the coach, and we seemed to suffer a serious injury every week. The first thing Bennett did when he got here was sack him, and then he weaseled his way back in when Bennett left. He then proceeded to white-ant all and sundry when he finally became coach, getting rid of Demetriou while Robson couldn't get out of here quickly enough. I haven't even mentioned his abysmal tactics as coach, nor the excuses he would trot out on a weekly basis, nor his coaching record.
In all seriousness, why would you want him back in any capacity?
Sure, but this is only one factor. Ability also had to part to play.Bennett got rid of McGregor as the fitness man because he had his own.
I've been predicting that we'd sack the next bloke before he starts. They're giving us a head start this time.I really don't want to see this but we cannot help it. It has become part of our DNA from the time Price got the job and ending with Hook so unless (subject to official confirmation) Flanagan starts his head coaching stint at the Dragons with good results, that "Sack" thread will be posted I feel sure. As I said, it's in our DNA.
By the way - and it is no confirmation - but someone has posted in Flanagan's Wikipedia that he is the head coach from 2024. We know that these sorts of things can be easily put into Wiki.
The common denominator being .... winning! Our online DNA consists of vocal fans who are loud and passionate about the club, who desperately want success and who are frustrated since 2010; that is a difficult fan base for any coach to keep happy.

Bring back the cane. Two of which were teachers.
Too late now but we should have hired another teacher as coach - maybe Miss Management from the Old Boys High School!
Or Harry Bath ?No love for Brian Smith?
Making Hunt play 9.Now what are we going to talk about?
McGregor was so fast his own hair couldn't keep up with him.Sure, but this is only one factor. Ability also had to play a part.
In the words of the immortal band the Bad Brains, Money Changes Everything.Sorry mate I always read your posts with interest but not sure of the continual push for Des didnt he FINALLY come out and say he wasnt interested in the Dragons HC role ? Maybe I have it wrong but that is what he said in an interview I saw.
Harper's bazaar lack of skill is not welcome at the Dragons.
It could have been another St George era of domination. Only Doust wanted Bennett at 750k for three years, not five. Long term it would have been much better to have Bennett for five years, he may have even agreed to an extension if everything went well., he might have even extended his stay. Why would Flanagan need to engage in a interview contest, he took over a club that I thought were going to be extinct ( wishful thinking), 2010, uh the good ol days with immortal master coach, another long term dominance heading the Red V way, haha not to be, anyway the titanic sinks and Flanno throws the lamp into the sea, way way far from the Porch.
