It could have been another St George era of domination. Only Doust wanted Bennett at 750k for three years, not five. Long term it would have been much better to have Bennett for five years, he may have even agreed to an extension if everything went well., he might have even extended his stay.
One of Doustie's best.

Wayne- I want 5 years.
Doust- Wayne, no one gets 5 years.

I said to a mate in 2008, that if Wayne Bennett can't win us comp no body can, Once again under Flanagan, if saints can't play year in year out major semi's, make a couple of gfs, win a couple of gfs, I will be surprised.
This sack the coach business hopefully can be buried for good!

Well if the side is playing better, you’d think he will be retained.

Under a Flanagan led coaching regime, it will be interesting to see who else returns to the club fold. Not just assistants but others.

What is to become of Carr?

If he can secure a handful of games, I guess you’d want to make use of his experience.

Or does Flanno sweep it all away?

And of course, maybe he’s on the phone to Ryles asking him what conditions he didn’t like and importantly why.

And he’d be crazy not to reach out to Hook and see what he thinks and tap his knowledge if it’s available.

He’d be looking at the roster for sure and he needs to know what’s going on in-house with training, attitude, strengths and weaknesses etc.

A big job, you want to minimise risk and blind spots.

He’d by asking Seibs for some days off as well. Just here and there. Unpaid.

The fight isn't over, there are dark forces are still so Jealous of the unmatched success of the Red V
11 IN A ROW, suckers haha
Like Why Does James Hooper still act like a Pork Chop, that guy just keeps on giving, we can be critical of the BOD, but I personally don't see anything wrong with what they have done since appointing hook, I thought he would have done better, not to be. They went for Ryles initially not be, finally they went for the correct choice IMHO, it took a little longer, but far from a calamity you goose James, this year was write off anyway.

Yeah I don’t think he can “ fully focus” on his Manly job as he says he is, a bit of spin to pacify the Manly faithful, but nobody should really expect him to.

He will just be busy.

What he does in his own time, should be a matter for him.

There’s no way he’s going to let players he likes slip away this season and he’s going to have familiarise himself with the roster and up and comers etc.

I think Seibs would expect that as well.

It might get a bit sticky if he’s linked to Manly players they want to keep or prospects and there might be discussions about the Sea Eagles future he’s not included in.

But it will be what it will be.

The fact that they want to keep him for the time being, speaks to his contribution there. He’s adding the value, they keep him.

It wouldn't matter what happened-Hooper would simply have taken the opposite argument.

Is it true Gus Gould writes his articles?

Is it true that Gus Gould and James Hooper are the same person? Has anyone ever seen the two in the same room?
Sleep paralysis but it's the thumb and toad saying basket case on repeat at the end of your bed.
