What the hell are you talking about? What exactly am i supposed to prove? We have already seen all the bullsh*t penalties this year for soft tackles, i don't see what else is needed.

The onus isn't on me to prove sh*t. The rule has been fine forever and a day, it's up to the people who support this change to show why it's needed. Nobody has done that adequately. Unlike some of the 'fans' on here i don't like our game being screwed around with for no good reason.

Judging from what i've heard from other people i'm not alone either.

I disagree, HQ has already justified its rule change.

The onus is now on you to prove them wrong.

Which can just as easily happen in tackles that aren't a shoulder charge. Again i'm waiting for anyone to post the evidence that shoulder charges specifically are leading to lots of injuries either short term or long term.

Don't bother linking me to the NFL BS because they didn't even ban the shoulder charge despite the ones in their code almost certainly causing more damage (due to the their ability to go all out thanks to wearing so much padding).

I disagree, HQ has already justified its rule change.

How have they justified? By referring to some research done by the NFL that led them NOT TO BAN SHOULDER CHARGES. How have they justified this beyond just saying it's dangerous (like so many other parts of playing rugby league).

The onus isn't on me to prove sh*t. I'm not the one making huge changes to the game, they should have to show why a change like this is necessary. I think i and many others in this thread have explained countless times why we disagree with what happened.

We have taken out one of the great spectacles of the game and now instead get more worthless penalties to slow the game down. The game is still just as dangerous as ever, we have softened a part of the game to appeal to a fan base who don't care about it.

This post reminds me of a song:

"Crying" by Roy Orbison

You're as bad as the whinging "babyeater".

Get over it.:D

that bulldogs jersey makes Sonny look dirty. Can we digitally alter it so that he's wearing a Roosters jersey instead?

I never thought about it like that, but its a fair point.

Little things like that are the icing on the awesome-cake that is Rugby League.
Fine, take away the shoulder charge and it doesn't ruin the game (I'd argue it does make it noticeable worse, some of the penalties, and Dugans suspension, have been downright embarrassing).

But how many of the little things can you take away before all we're left with is 5 hitups and a kick? After all, according to f**king Union fans that's all our game is.

The older crowd already laments the gradual softening of the game. The lack of endurance with interchanges. The staying down for penalties. The loss of the contest for the ball. The loss of the quick-tap unmarked play the ball. The loss of the contested scrum. The decline of the smaller players.

Be careful what you wish for.

I disagree, HQ has already justified its rule change.

Have they justified it? I recall a report with blatantly falsified numbers, poorly defined terms, and ZERO actual evidence of long term damage (more than the existing long term damage that every contact sport player faces) from Rugby League or any comparable sport.
