I called him a monkey - then said it was fun and games - then went after him in the hotel.

but I’M sOrRy nOw.

lol f**k off. You saw the slomo and knew not guilty left you no hope.
Yeah I don't really get some of the posts above giving him any credit - "sincerely sorry" - lol, did everyone just forget the timeline of events or something? It's obvious this is just the path of least resistance for both himself and the Roosters, and has nothing to do with being sorry.

Zero credit to Spencer but I think the Roosters have done the right thing here, likely talked him into the guilty plea understanding it'll help reduce his suspension - and added bonus the club comes out looking good too

Yeah thats it, the Roosters have handled it how you would expect a professional organisation to do so (besides letting him be interviewed on the field afterwards).

This is 100% Roosters in damage control mode and 0% Spencer.

He didn't think he'd done anything wrong then and still doesn't now.

Notably absent from the Roosters statement was an apology from Trent Robinson for insinuating that Ezra was making it up. Not that I expected any better from the slimiest coach in the game.

Yes, they are derogatory comments and shouldn't be used and if a white player said it I'd say give him 10 weeks. But I'm not sure that this qualifies as racism though. They are both the same race.

Did he? Thought he was going down the ‘could’ve misheard’ path which wasn’t much better and kinda desperate

He did not handle it well. But have you not heard of Siebold, Bennett, Demetriou, Flannagan or the king of it all Cleary ?

I might also be a dumb merkin, but I honestly believe he is just a really dumb f**ker more so than a racist. I think he was just too stupid to realise. He has a history of the red mist seizing up the hamster wheel in his head.

My guess is he may have been considered a loose cannon so happy to lose him and keep some other players
Probably, I just meant the racist bit. Also he was pretty in effective as a starter in the times he was given a shot. He wanted the 8 or 10 on his back & no way that was happening at Penrith.
