Would be a solid signing IMO. No-one wants to come to Auckland, Seymour without baggage is very much a solid half.

Witt's 'loss' has hurt us. Think of those away games (Knights, Storm, Dragons) where we picked up just 1 out of 6 points...games we could have picked up with a goal-kick.

can't disagree with wittyfan on this one. we've missed witt. and now he is wasting away playing rugby for otago. otago ffs.

and as for fein. when he was moved to halfback last season this coincided with a turnaround in our form. he was nz's best at the world cup. we win our opening too matches, looking like a pretty solid attack force. then ivan brings in jones, and ever since we've sucked. sucked. these are some dynamic parallels. hard to argue with imo. cleary to blame imo. what did fein do that was really that bad? all jones did was set up that try against the sea eagles. ffs

Yes, we won the first two matches. But as I have said before, those matches were against the Eels, who are doing worse than us, and Manly, who didn't win a game until about round 7 from memory. Placing the consequent lack of form solely on Fien's dropping is pointless, the problems with the 2009 season were deeply rooted well before Fien was dropped.

Agreed.

I hear that a lot "Fien won 2-2 at halfback to start the season". What a load.

We beat a sh*thouse Eels side at home round 1, we then beat the Sea Eagles but while Fien might have been starting halfback we wouldn't of won that game without Stacey, and then people quickly forget that Fien was the starting halfback against the Broncos, a game we were beaten comfortably in.

Fien's record is 1 win, 1 loss, 1 Stacey assisted win. Hardly inspiring, and this is coming from someone who would prefer Fien at halfback to Stacey.

Facts are something was wrong well before they took the field. They've looked physically and mentally slow for most of the year. Perhaps a general lack of fitness, perhaps the pre-season was just too disrupted due to the Fai tragedy, maybe the training staff experimented and it backfired, who knows. Point is we were screwed before the season started, we just hadn't realised it yet.

I prefer to point out that Fien was the halfback and performed adequately in our finals run last year and in the World Cup. The 2 games at the start of the year is neither here nor there

Fein has been consistently inconsistent, for the sake of the Warriors he needed to go to greener pastures. As for Jones, the man is a legend, and perhaps that’s what he should be focusing on rather than trying to relive the glory days. The warriors have lacked in the halves for a long time; Witt was a goal kicker at best, he possessed no attacking flair. Giving Seymour a life-line could be great for the Warriors; all things considered they can’t get to much worse than this year to date...

It's quite funny how every thread turns out like this.

..................Have to admit this current management (Hart......oh and cleary) seem like there trying to prove a point to every1, And trying to prove a point so hard their not focusing on the job at hand and are a bit delusional. how many times can you say "we were almost there" "were close" ? and what the hell is almost there? or close?

Are they taking acid before the games or something, then telling the team to keep up the good work during the week?
