Terry Campese commits long-term future to the Canberra Raiders
Brent Read June 05, 2009

Article from: The Australian
NSW five-eighth Terry Campese has celebrated his State of Origin debut by signing a long-term contract extension with Canberra.

Campese, who had another year remaining on his existing deal, has agreed to stay with the Raiders until the end of 2014.

The 24-year-old had offers from rival NRL clubs as well as overseas rugby union, but his first preference was always to commit his future to the Raiders.

After making his Test debut as part of last year's Australian squad at the World Cup, Campese was one of seven rookies who played for the Blues in Queensland's 28-18 win at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

raiders.com.au reports Campo's extension until end of 2015 - the largest deal in Raiders history and the longest contract currently in the NRL.

Jarred Waerea-Hargreaves. Roosters 3 years.
http://sydneyroosters.com.au/default.aspx?s=article-display&id=17165

The Sydney Roosters have signed Jarred Waerea-Hargreaves to a 3 year deal commencing 2010.
Waerea-Hargreaves, born in New Zealand, originally moved to Queensland on a golf scholarship before taking up Rugby Union.
In 2008 he played with the Waratahs before taking up Rugby League and signing with the Manly Sea Eagles for the 2009 season.
Jarred has predominantly played Toyota Cup this season, however he made his first grade debut in Round 9 this year.
After being persued by several NRL Clubs, the Roosters are excited to announce the deal and are looking forward to working with Jarred and developing him into a regular first grader.

Don't know if this has been mentioned:

Ben Farrah (Cowboys) and Michael Bani (Manly) Direct swap, and on contract for the two clubs until the end of 2011.

Source: Link is in Cowboys forum.

Cant blame JWH for going, he is not worth the cash the rooters have signed him for, at least at the moment. Anyway, lets hope he does not go the way of Mason and O'Meley. They sure know how to get the best from their forwards.

JWH does have a load of potential and could be an absolute Superstar of the NRL.

But we cant keep em all and the Roosters apparently paid $520k over 3 years.

As long as we keep Foran, Lussick and Hoppa we will be fine. plus with T-Rex's imminent move to the forwards and Cuthbo's return (and hopefully Baileys move to lock in 2010) we have plenty of depth in the forwards

You bought Williams, only to lose JWH. It's only a smart move, if you were hedging your bets thiking that JWH could likely decide to leave. I think he's been pushed out by that move and not Orford, as reported.
