Just wanted to add my voice to the justified tirade of abuse directed at Nein for their coverage.

I'm a hardcore fan. I like watching footy. I don't watch Onion, I don't watch AFL, I just like Rugby League.

I'm probably not as committed as some on here that watch the NYC and the minor pool games between RLWC minnows. But last night, England v New Zealand, I gave up on the game at 12-4 because I couldn't stay awake.

Now, you may say, what? The game started at 8.30pm on Nein. Yes, but I've imposed a blanket ban on Nein in my house in response to their contemptuous treatment of RL over many years. Their shabby treatment of the RLWC was just the straw that broke me, I was fed up with them long before now. I'm not interested in their talking heads, Bennikins and Reg the Flight Steward gobbing his brother the whole time hold no allure for me. I'm not interested in their BS build-ups or their vainglorious self-promotion either. I'm just interested in the footy and I want it live, as they promised. I could accept the match not being live into the city where it is being played but I am a long way from there.

Okay, watch it on Fox then. It didn't start until 9.30pm and wouldn't finish until 11.00pm. Sorry, my life doesn't revolve around a TV schedule and I have to sleep to be ready for the next day.

Fortunately, I was able to catch the replay on Austar this morning.

A pox on Nein and another on the spineless, clueless Colin Love who allowed it to happen and then has the hide to defend it.

The game was scheduled to start on Ch9 Perth at 11:40pm. Just in case it started a few minutes early, I put the tv on at 11:30pm. The f**ken thing had already started 20mins earlier again. I have since seen it, but was mighty pissed off at Ch9.

Was out last night, started watching it at 1am.

Game was pretty entertaining so staying up was no problem at all.

Mate, only 2 or 3 years ago every friday night game was on at 8:30. I'd rather it live but it's not like it doesn't start until late.

I just turned on 2GB just to see if they were calling the PNG v Aus game as they were the rights holders and not a chance - some religious guy is doing his talkback show instead. I know the ABC are doing a call, but 2GB were said they would at least call all the Aussie pool games and it looks as though they aren't.

Remembering we had a network that offered to call EVERY game and pay more money.

The broadcasting and promotion of this tournament has been a shambles.

I live on the NSW/Victorian border and usually WIN has the games on at the same time as they are shown in regional NSW and Sydney although this past weekend has been an absolute shocker.
Last night at 8:30 I switched it over to watch the game and I had to sit through Yours Mine ours so I thought ok I guess its at 9:30 tonight so I switched over then and guess what I find on WIN the pink panther comes on, what absolute and utter crap I had to wait until Austar showed it at 10:30 to watch the game because it wasn't on WIN until 11:40.
Now tonight I thought surely its the Australian game it'll be on at 8:30 oh how naive and stupid I am. CSI is obviously more important to the idiots at WIN than playing an international game of league. So i have to wait another 30 minutes for the game to come on which is the exact same time that it is on Austar. So i have to think long and hard about this am I going to watch it on WIN and endure 5 minute long add breaks or watch it on Fox sports and have no adds during the half, its just such a hard choice.
I would say I’d avoid watching the games on WIN/9 but they have all league viewers exactly where they want them, if you want to watch the game even close to live well your stuck with them. Special thanks to the ARL for having even less balls than the NRL when it comes to TV coverage, who thought anyone could make David Gallop look good.
With the way league is treated in Victoria its no small wonder it’s taking so long to grow in popularity

As i understand it, if you put in the subject rugby league it would record every program with RL in it automatically. Even if you haven't heard a program was on, the tivo would save it for you.

All the games involving the Aussies are on Nine first.

All the others were live and uninterrupted on Fox.

So I could watch Tonga V Samoa live without ads, but not Australia.

Always on delay with the ads.

Apparently this is all nine's fault, not the legislation that allows it.

there are already better HD STB out there and have been for some time and Tivo has no DVD player

International RL rates very well.

Just look at matches from earlier this year and in previous years. Despite being shown on delay, the Aus v Eng match last week smashed 60 minutes in the ratings.

They have f**ked people around and are now paying the price. Pool A games are not rating to their full potential just because Nine want to throw in a million ads. Colin Love and his cronies have allowed this to happen.
