Oake is too much like other players as I said before 180 cm 100 kg ball park props, Parra have far too many of them.

If Keating, Paulo, Tautai and Marsh are all staying for vat least another year on top of other recent re-signings I'm more then happy to cop the loss of Oake and to a lesser extent Taia

Craig Wing to leave Roosters

Roosters hooker Craig Wing has advised club Chairman Nick Politis that he will be leaving the Roosters at the end of the season and taking up a 4 year contract with South Sydney.
Craig has been a Rooster for eight (8) years and was the halfback in the 2002 premiership victory and a key player for the club in 4 grand final appearances.
Craig confirmed whilst the Roosters offer was higher, he felt more comfortable accepting the Souths offer, as it was a guaranteed 4 year commitment against the Roosters 2 years with a 2 year option. He also indicated that it would be his last contract in Australia.
Roosters CEO Brian Canavan said the club was disappointed to lose such an outstanding player and clubman but could not commit to a guaranteed 4 year offer when there was so much uncertainty in the game today and salary cap restrictions.
"Whilst wishing Craig all the best, we understand he had to make a business decision and now the Roosters will move forward under our youth policy to further develop players like Mitchell Pearce, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Danny Williams, Mitch Aubusson, Setaimata Sa and many others for 2008 and beyond. It is always hard to lose a player who came to the club as a promising junior and has developed into an international.”

Wing going to the Bunnies for less money, gee Roosters are struggling.

Not really...

The Herald understands Wing, who brokered the contract on his own with Souths co-owner Russell Crowe, is worth about $350,000 a season - even though he told the Roosters the deal was for about $230,000 a year. The Roosters could offer only about $250,000 per year over two years with a two-year option.

Smarts me thinks. ;-)

Souths are denying the Wing signing.

http://www.leagueunlimited.com/article.php?newsid=14105

Meanwhile, South Sydney have refused to confirm they have signed Sydney Roosters star Craig Wing to a four-year deal from next year.

The Roosters yesterday took the unusual step of posting a farewell message to WING on their website, saying he had decided on a longer deal at Souths than the two-years offered by the Bondi club.

But the Rabbitohs say no deal has been finalised.

The Roosters claim the contract with Souths will be Wing's last in Australia

As usual, the Roosters posted the news on their website. Whoever does the news articles at that site should really get their arses kicked for the way they word them. It always seems to involve Souths. Seriously, get someone professional in there who can remain impartial.

I saw a rumour today on another site that Haynes , will be announced as signed for 2009 by Souths. And will ask for a release for 2008.
If true would expect it announced on thursday with expected Wing announcement.

any credence?
