A grade f**kwit

This is the icing on the cake, in a long list of administrative c**k-ups that have been happening in the game for years. Very good product, excellent tv ratings (especially Origin), but extremely poorly run by the men at the top. So much potential, but never fulfilled.
I’m picturing Hooper hiding in the bushes out the front of some prominent NRL players’ house.
So, effectively, every player now falls under the ‘no fault stand down’ policy.
They will be scraping the bottom of the barrel for content, even more so than usual. 1 week. Are we taking bets on how long a Daily Tele journo writes a story about a bored NRL player breaking the lockdown guidelines and not social distancing correctly.
I 100% agree with you regarding the clubs constantly wanting more money, and it is not just the exorbitant wages the top players get (which the player agents of those players are largely responsible for regarding manipulating the club to up their offer), but moreso the gross nepotism that has been shown to certain players has been disgusting (whether it be regarding testimonial matches, diamond rings, lenient penalties handed out at the judiciary, grubby tactics onfield that don't get penalised etc.).Weak leadership maybe. A lot of the blame lies with the clubs and players who demanded more and more money because they were the product which without them there would be no game.
But hey you reap what you sow

This time the ‘Code in Crisis’ headline is genuine though. They will be scraping the bottom of the barrel for content, even more so than usual. 1 week.
Key points from the press conference:
- Health and safety was the top priority - the NRL's biosecurity and pandemic experts told the league it was no longer possible to ensure player health and safety.
- No determined return date - it's being left open as to when the league resumes.
- All clubs and players have been briefed and asked not to train from tomorrow.
- NRL HQ is shut as reported earlier today, with staff asked to take leave til 1 May.
- The decision means the Warriors can return home tomorrow before border closures are enforced.
- V'landys reiterated from his previous press conference that this is a catastrophic time financially for the NRL and its clubs.
- Greenberg outlined they are still confident of getting the season played out.
