There certainly is a stark uptick in 2021 - quite a few heart attacks. Maybe just a co-incidence but worth keeping an eye on. This is just one sport too.
17 deaths in the previous 2 years through the COVID period.

15 deaths between the 2016/2017 seasons.
18 deaths between the 2012/2013 seasons.
17 deaths between the 2009/2010 seasons.

The death rate looks pretty consistent. The latest 2 seasons had a couple of 50+ year olds pass away, a 49 year old and 45 year old. While the earlier years had very few 40+ year olds pass away.

It seems big chunk of them are just using it as an excuse to dig their heals in because they don’t like govt telling them what to do.
110%

They have such a mistrust of the government because they believe their circumstances are caused by ‘elites’ and that it’s unfair. But that’s a topic for another day.

Why? The fact that he hasn’t been affected by covid19 and refuses to take the rushed and under researched vaccines?
So he and you believe medicine should only be used in a curative manner not a preventative one? I hope you never get struck down by a disease that is easily controlled or nullified by a vaccine.

Not COVID but it’s happened to me and I thank my lucky stars that my folks had me vaccinated otherwise I’d probably be dead.

I don't know what is causing them, but definitely worth keeping an eye on whatever the cause is.
They all exercised. That could be it. Or they all brushed their teeth.

I'd hazard a guess someone is keeping an eye on it, but they'd probably be cardiologists and other leading health professionals/specialists so best do your own research and electrocardiography to keep the bastards honest!

The Paul Gallen – Josh Aloiai heavyweight fight on December 10 has been called off after tests revealed Aloiai has Covid.

The Manly Sea Eagles front-rower is understood to have fallen ill on Monday after a session in his gym.

He is now being treated for Covid-19. It is unclear if he was vaccinated.

Anyone else reckon there will be a finals bubble of some sort in 2022?

After the final round have a bye and separate the players and support staff and bus/fly them in and out to games.

Star players testing positive is going to wreck games next year and the finals will need to be protected somehow.

Yes, I reckon this coming year might be a tough one to get through.

Which is ironic given high vaccination rates and no lockdowns, no masks and no check ins (we will see how long they can hold on before bringing them back), yet higher infection rates.

One player gets infected and the whole team will be close contacts, potentially 2 teams needing to isolate for 6 days with 2 negative tests.

Will players accept another season of covid bubble?

Better get used to it, once the country is fully opened up and not worrying so much about containment infection rates are going to massively spiral.

Be interesting to see how the Government and sporting leagues respond though... are we just going to say, oh well the majority are vaccinated let's just keep going? Or are they going to panic and start implementing restrictions again? Surely the whole vax push lately suggests that the former will be the way they will go
