Did anyone see Richard Wilkins got it? It seems to be targeting B grade famous people.
No one is doubting there would be significant impact on industries. But if you anyone is given the option of the collapse of their health system or a economic downturn - I guarantee most logical and rational people would take the economic downturn.
Why is that guy even somewhat famous anywayDid anyone see Richard Wilkins got it? It seems to be targeting B grade famous people.
32,000 have the flu each year
Estimates have 150,000 cancer patients
We don’t shut down for them just take precautions to limit the damage
Compared to those this is a drop in the ocean yet the place comes to a standstill

this is more deadly than the flu and will spread the same way.

According to the 2019 Annual Report, the NRL has total assets of $225m of which $181m is "cash and cash equivalent". It has total liabilities of $144m. Grants to clubs were $228m last year. So it can be seen that liquid reserves only exceed liabilities by $37m which was the figure they were bandying about. It can be also seen that it would not take many months at all without TV revenue for the books to fall into the red. This article says the NRL has nearly $150 million in cash reserves. Vlandys is just making sure we're not left out when the other codes go cap in hand to the government.

There is currently a vaccine for the flu that is brought out every year. It is relatively controlled beyond the need to attend a hospital. This is not the case for COVID-19.
The whole point of the lock down is to flatten the incidence curve to ensure the health system can operate. Until a point that immunity is pretty well stable and a vaccine is available.
This. If anything you'd have to cull teams and have a smaller comp of viable teams.Imagine the cost of SEVEN new franchises starting up all at once, most of them in locations that have failed previously, when the parent body is already insolvent.
Which makes you wonder how many people in Wuhan get the flu each year and die from it.
Not everyone needs to be hospitalised with COVID-19 either. Infact plenty probably wouldn't get tested in normal circumstances
And if that vaccine isn't available until next year?
You would think the aim is Northern Hemisphere winter we can't put everything on hold until then
One can definitely survive and recover.
