Could this affect Snowy's contract??

Whilst I dont like the way Tinkler went about the Snowy situation its typical of 50% of Australians to have a crack at somebody who risks everything to have a full on go at life & provide employment & opportunity for thousands of people, to then have those people undermine them & give ammunition to the jealous/parasitic element of Australia.
I hope he works out his cash flow issues & remains strong.

Ohhh sorry, my apols. I must be thinking of something else. You know, things like not getting paid. Gee why would any employee have a gripe about not getting his/her wages to feed his/her family.

Sorry.

Who hasnt been paid? If you are worried about your next pay packet, after opening & enjoying 5 years of paypackets, then you should just move on & shut the f**k up & stop being a parasite on the country & disloyal to smebody who has risked everything & given you & your family unlimited opportunities.
I would expect & hope that the trainer, who obviously is another of "the entitled" element of Australia, is quickly fired & has to start looking for another job. Im sure there are plenty of left wing bosses out thre who admire that sort of employee.

Give it a rest. There are now hundreds, literally hundreds, of organisations both small and large (of whose proprieters also risked everything) who are on public record saying that they have not been paid by Tinkler or his affiliated companies and are willing to go legal to chase him .In fact., the money he raised as capital to buy that first coal mine, do you know where that came from? He procured a couple of earth movers from a dealership in Melbourne, on-sold them to a mine in Newcastle run by one of his mates. The dealer still hasnt been paid!

He's gone. His stake in Whitehaven is leveraged to the tune of $650 million but the share value is around $500 mill. Thats a $150 million shortfall. Unless the Whitehaven shareprice miraculously goes up by about 20% he will continue to not pay debts and will be chased into bankruptcy. That wont happen as his boardroom bully tactics last week didnt work.

And while you applaud him for "risking everything" he should be condemned. When he did well off his first mine deal, and then procured Whitehaven, he went on a spending spree the likes of which had not been seen in this country before.

Hundreds of horses, paid for at over the odds.
The countries biggest horse stud.
Luxury properties.
A fleet of luxury cars.
The Newcastle Jets (paid for again, well over the odds)
The Newcastle Knights.
Investments in coal loaders.

All of this was paid for by a speculative debt that has crippled him. He has not done this to provide jobs or industry to Newcastle or anything resembling any noble cause. He has done this out of greed and a desire for largesse, obviously which he cannot sustain.

The only thing you are right about is the word "risk". His ventures were risky. Too risky. And he is paying the penalty and so are a heck of a lot of other people who didnt make dumb, greedy decision like this fat grub.

Not paying someone for works done when you obviously have the coin is despicable.
Are people supposed to work for nothing in return? I highly doubt that sits well with the capitalists of the world.
Defending the said payer is ridiculous.

I will defned Skase & Bond.
I was around when my mates parents worked for both. They built companies off Skases & Bonds developments. sure they took a hit in the end, but overall, most of them did quite nicely for 10 or more years. I personally worked on the construction of Bond University for 2 years. The legacies of Bond & Skase on the gold coast & North Queensland will be around for years. If they hadnt done it , who would ahve?
Some parasitic lefty from a Union picket? dont think so.

& Newman, who is this said dealer of earthmoving equipent who got dudded 12 years ago & still hsnt been paid? Possession is NOT 9/10's of the law at all when it comes to equipment & there are many big tough repo guys still going around getting said equipment back. Why was Tinkler untouchable in this case?

All debt is speculative, for everybody. We can say exactly the same about the consortium building the Sharks.

The only thing you are right about is the word "risk". His ventures were risky. Too risky. And he is paying the penalty and so are a heck of a lot of other people who didnt make dumb, greedy decision like this fat grub.
So if he comes out the other side, & everybody keeps their jobs, it was good risk? or would the people had been better off without jobs for 12 years?

How many small punters lost their life saving by investing with those 2??? Plenty. They were conmen of the highest order in it for a quick buck at the expense of others with absolutely no consideration for those they were hurting.

I have no idea. Were there many? I know the banks got hammered. Lots of friends parents I know started business's as young people & did quite well.
I dont know anybody who lost life saings. I know a few who got dudded on final payments, but continued to run businesses.
I dont believe they were con men, as such. They simply built way too much. Conmen dont build things. Big difference from peter Foster to Alan Bond.

Bond & Skaise were seen as the new Messiah by many in WA. As misguided as they may have been an enormous amount of everyday people invested large wads of their savings into their shares, many of them their total retirement savings. I am unable to find stats but I do remember this era quite well.
Of course some profit in these times and others don't. It was the little people that probably were hurt the most as they had no idea really. The governments of the time also lost around $800m from the failures so in effect we all payed. In defence of Bond at least he stayed to face the music unlike the coward Skaise.
These bloke aren't heros.

We must stick to the principle 'don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument'
If we follow that then everyone will be happy!
