Field might be able to make it as a winger, but in our current back three I think you really need a like for like replacement for nene if he is out.

It seems to go relatively unnoticed on here, but nene does a huge amount of work for us on tackle 2 coming off our own line. He uses a bit of footwork, but his size and strength generally mean that he finds his front or at the least isn't manhandled. Flo does similar work but isn't as effective, and dufty's size issues are well known. I think if you add field to that back 3 it's a recipe for disaster.

I hear what you are saying , but needs to be used from time to time give him game time or we will never know . Before Dufty he was talked about being the next fullback , IMO I'd try and bring him along .....

I take your point. He seems to be a special talent, and it would be a shame to waste that. I just can't see where he would fit into the current team. It would take a very special coach thinking outside the box to make it happen...

He’s not getting a run until either of those two get injured and if one of them get injured our season is done anyway.

You really want a back three of Nene, Field and Dufty? Great in the opposition 20, but let’s all just imagine what will happen when the opposition kick it to Field’s wing. Actually don’t worry I’ll tell you: it’ll look like the scene at the end of Ace Ventura 2 with the gorilla.

If any one of the back three could ever actually get it together enough to catch the ball on the full occasionally we could avoid a lot of those problems.

I haven’t watched it gonz but I most sincerely hope that it has something to do with a better defensive structure and a slicker working combination between Hunt and Widdop .

And you can throw in determination and 100% commitment from each of the players .
Finally another few ‘ plans ‘ from our maestro coach .

I'm not adverse to Field being the #17 but only if Leilua is playing.
Dufty, Field and Leilua all played together in the U20's and we saw the relationship in Dufty's try on Sunday. With Leilua on and Dufty at f/b, bringing Field on for 10 mins sniffing for a Leilua offload around tiring forwards, oppositions would be in 2 minds about who the ball would go to. Of course Field would be vulnerable in defense but does the strke power override that?
Herbert also played in that U20's team and though not as quick as Field, he would offer the same with better defense.

Onya Frank, you know how to bait me by asking about Field !!

Yes it's a given for 99% of this Forum that Lomax should've been blooded earlier - it was such an obvious & sensible thing to do to develop depth.

But Mary is frightened of his tenure and just will not upset the favoured incumbents in any way - in case he loses the dressing room.

Only a Mac truck or a hammy off the bone will split Lafai & Aitken.

Mary's amazingly (and I give him enormous credit) got Field on his radar, over and above most on this Forum - so I'd figure he's thinking wing, 5/8 of fullback.

I'd move Hunt to 9 and Field to 5/8 for short stints during games. For experience & insurance against future injury ( without going down the retrograde Nichols journeyman dead end FFS?)

I'd do that when Widdop & Hunt start to go MIA - to spark things up & to counteract the obvious periods of lost focus & energy.

Frizell to the centres for 2 sets close to the line. FMD some left field options on the run - very scary stuff for Mary

I love watching that rare Bennett smile light up when his ganebreaker Roberts gets the ball in semi-space. He's stated several times that Roberts is his ganebreaker.

With (Widdop) Lomax, Herbert & Leilua in there with Field there'd be known and quite potentially dynamic & flexible combinations.

He simply responded to a post that someone else had made in relation to a media story saying why we’re feeling confident.

So DS is essentially saying maybe they’ve made that story up because we’re back to training a full week and feeling confident.

It has nothing to do with other teams.

Your problem is you’ve got an agenda.. so you do have some valid points from time to time (like all do on here) but they get lost in all your other rubbish you post that’s driven by your own motives.
