Cows game

Nah, we’ll beat the cows like an Indonesian abattoir worker.
We should rest Debelin this week though - then Sims when Host is right to play again.
Hunt I could see the case for a rest too, but he might be better off playing himself back into form. Just needs to chill out a bit I think, trying a bit to hard to make things happen.
I'm doing the negative reverse psychology this week, the tigers game hurt me.
I give us zero chance of winning against Cowboys, it'll be rock rock bottom when we lose at full strength heading into roosters and warriors.

Hey Boys,

If either Pereira or Herbert gets selected and you want to know how they play,

<-- This one's pretty long so I wouldn't watch the whole thing
Thanks for that KW.
Looking at their highlights can anyone shed some light on a couple of things for me.
How quick is Pereira ? he certainly looks busy & willing to have a run but there wasn't much evidence of his speed.
As for Herbert defensively at times he looked to be a bit of a grabber?
Appreciate any comments.

Pereira is quite quick not field or dufty quick but as quick as mann or a least close.
Re Hebert that footage is from 2 years ago when he played for the cutters.
His defence since moving to fb is much improved.
When he was playing 6 he was a ok defender.
Since training full time with nrl boys he has got better.
Mybe because the defence at fb is more one on one than at 6.

They look good but , for me if its going to be a permanent wing spot we need a player with speed to burn not plodders . We have a back line of plodders except for Dufty , need an AdoCarr speed machine type player . Maybe we can call Mr Bolt to trial on the wing for us instead of his soccer trial . Only kidding .... Mmmmm

Surely they can turn Field into a winger , I watched some footage on him he is quick . For me I'd have him on the bench and give him minutes ... He will toughen up has no choice if he wants to play with the big boy's...

I'm not adverse to Field being the #17 but only if Leilua is playing.
Dufty, Field and Leilua all played together in the U20's and we saw the relationship in Dufty's try on Sunday. With Leilua on and Dufty at f/b, bringing Field on for 10 mins sniffing for a Leilua offload around tiring forwards, oppositions would be in 2 minds about who the ball would go to. Of course Field would be vulnerable in defense but does the strke power override that?
Herbert also played in that U20's team and though not as quick as Field, he would offer the same with better defense.

What you say ,Its all about putting teams in two minds . Like the game on the weekend bring on a player like Field , using him as you say right times can be dangerous . When things are not going our way in games as you say strike power ......

I see what you are saying hazz.
But that would take 2 things the Mary will not do.
1) It takes balls.
2) It mean you have to have a plan b and c.
Well Mary has problem with plan a so little or no hope of b or c

Field might be able to make it as a winger, but in our current back three I think you really need a like for like replacement for nene if he is out.

It seems to go relatively unnoticed on here, but nene does a huge amount of work for us on tackle 2 coming off our own line. He uses a bit of footwork, but his size and strength generally mean that he finds his front or at the least isn't manhandled. Flo does similar work but isn't as effective, and dufty's size issues are well known. I think if you add field to that back 3 it's a recipe for disaster.

You really want a back three of Nene, Field and Dufty? Great in the opposition 20, but let’s all just imagine what will happen when the opposition kick it to Field’s wing. Actually don’t worry I’ll tell you: it’ll look like the scene at the end of Ace Ventura 2 with the gorilla.
