I'm glad we didn't hire Tony Zappia. We couldn't handle the scrutiny of having a dodgy CEO...

how was Tony Zappia dodgy ? more like he had to much mud. Please tell me how well the sharks went when he was ceo ? Please tell me how many players signed with the sharks when he was appointed Ceo ?

I think it is inappropriate to borrow money from other individuals involved with the club. Isn't that what financial institutions are for?

I'm continually amazed by how the upper levels of business - as with government - are entirely based on personal relationships.

It's like professionalism is only for the people working at the lowest levels of organisations.

ParraAds, were you at one stage employed by the club?

No malice intended, just a question.

Depends how much he owes him.

Like the saying goes, if you owe me a hundred dollars you're in trouble, but if you owe me a million dollars I'm in trouble.

This is surely pure co incidence, but it seems Fitzy no longer has any say in Parramatta Stadium. This was announced 5 days ago :
Minister Unveils Venues NSW

Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, today unveiled plans to create a new authority, Venues NSW. The new authority will replace the Hunter Region Sporting Venues Authority, Illawarra Venues Authority and Parramatta Stadium Trust.

"The establishment of Venues NSW will effectively rationalise the current structures and set-up an authority to oversee existing and future NSW Government venues," Mr Annesley said.

Facilities to be part of Venues NSW include:

Parramatta Stadium
WIN Stadium
WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong
Ausgrid Stadium
Newcastle Entertainment Centre and Showground; and
Other venues managed by the Hunter Region Sporting Venues Authority.
Mr Annesley said the change is designed to streamline the current operations of these important facilities.

"Venues NSW will maximise efficiencies and opportunities by taking advantage of economies of scale to make NSW even more competitive in attracting major events.

"There will be a continuation of local representation, with Local Venues Councils being established in the Hunter, Illawarra and Western Sydney Regions.

"Importantly, the Chair of each Local Venues Council will be a member of the Board, as local community involvement will be a key focus of Venues NSW.

"This will ensure local communities continue to have a voice in the running of their sporting and entertainment facilities, and that Venues NSW meets local needs.

"It makes good sense for these venues to be co-ordinated by one entity.

"This structure is already in place interstate and has proven to be very successful.

"Venues NSW will deliver better outcomes, and be well positioned to take advantage of new opportunities in sport and entertainment which is vital to local interests and the NSW economy," Mr Annesley said.
