Crisis rocks Parramatta club as director quits

Sadly, it's not like we're unique here. Bulldogs, Manly, Storm, Newcastle, Sharks to name just a few have all had admin shitfights as well in recent times. There's probably others that I'm not recalling too. Power does things to people, and the media is always looking for a story to sell papers, fact based or not.

If all that is being alleged is actually true then you'd say that Osbourne won't be around much longer. But given our 'friends' in the media I'm not sure I believe much of it just yet.

That said, Robin Williams had a great saying... Politicians are like nappies. They should be changed often, and for the same reason. I think it applies to any position of power really.
Agreed - however, except for the Sharks, all of the teams listed have at least won competitions in the last 25 years.

Time for everyone to focus on the one goal - get this club running smoothly, with the flow on affect hopefully going on to the players, & then win the comp.

All of this other bullshit just frustrates me & turns me off as nobody seems to be concerned about the people that pay their wages - us, the fans!

Okay, let me rephrase my earlier deleted post...

I think that Spags is good for the club, but clearly he has dropped the ball with this CEO.

At least Spags doesn't appear to simply be sweeping everything under the carpet.

How many times did Alan overton drop the ball on Fitzy ?
I always love it when somebody justifies their mistakes by saying the person they replaced made mistakes, so it is acceptable for me too. Why replace the person if we are only going to get more of the same, they were voted out for a reason, people expect improvement not the same sh!t as before.

How do you drop a ball on some-one who is above you :sarcasm:.

when this story first broke, it was just a beat up by some journalists.....unfortunatly or fortunatly for us, we seem to have enemies in the press so they never let up on it.

If the board were reacting to the initial complaints, Duncan wouldn't have resigned. They are now fighting to hold their own credability. So I don't think you can be so congratulatory to the board, if it was handled properly it would have been investigated before the press dragged us through the mud again.

Some articles appear to refer to investigations that were already underway some time ago. If they were sweeping things under the carpet

as far as I can tell from the reports, that was only the bullying, which from all acounts were proven and now they are trying to come to some kind of settlement. This was also why Duncan questioned Roy impartiality when infact Ozzie is in debt to him.

Spag's heart is in the right place, no doubt about it, so much so that it's probably got him unstuck on this occasion, Ovo's problem was as wonderful a man he was or still is he was dictated by his own CEO then stuck by him..

The whole place needs an entire clean out again from the sounds of it. It seems pretty clear Osborne has at least done something wrong but regardless those that put him in charge in the first place have to be held accountable too. The fact they are not keeping tabs on what he gets up to is dodgy in itself. Osborne really just rode the coatails of success in 2009, but he really hasn't done anything since except enjoy that glory.

He oversaw the cleanout since '09 and the recruitment for next year.

I'm sure you'll say he had nothing to do with it, but if that's the case then why do we even need a CEO?

He didn't oversee the cleanout he was appointed by the new board midway through '09. Andrew Hill was caretaker CEO during the Fitzy saga.

While he was in charge and oversaw recruitment for 2012 that's one of the issues being raised as to the legalities to some of these deals so lets not go congratulating him yet.

Yet you don't have a problem calling for the entire place to be cleaned out asap. Obviously jumping to conclusions only works one way ;-)

Not jumping to any conclusions mate, the only thing clear at the moment is how unprofessionally this matter is being handled and as that's the case the buck has to stop at the top.

I'm talking about the cleanout that has taken place since 2009.

I sure will congratulate him, and whoever else is responsible for the huge turnover in personnel since '09. Not just for the signings and re-signings, but all the high profile players who are gone.

I always saw it as short-term pain for long-term gain and I've never doubted the people running the club have a clear plan.

As for the alleged discrepancies in the third party deals, the club have all contracts overseen and ratified by the NRL. This particular 'scandal' is clearly a trash journo beatup.

Of course you are. The degree to which the matter is being handled unprofessionally is still largely media speculation.

Exactly.
At the moment, the issue is a story. Not a headline, and certainly not a crisis.
