I agree with you re: their success with the Leagues club, but there is NO doubt that the board has been a destabilising influence when it comes to the football side of things.

When they took over we were a struggling bunch of losers with about 3 blokes who were of first grade standard.
Somehow we started winning after they took over, and SOMEHOW made the grand final.
Last 2 seasons we've actually competed fairly well - but without the halves neccessary to turn pressure into points and so win football games.
So the football side of things = bringing in a new recruitment officer, sacking the useless old one; bringing in a new coach who had full say over players and 'player pulling power' - and then using that power to recruit a stack of big names for the future.
If that's destabilizing you should try making sense of what Cronulla do each year mate.
