Cronk to leave Storm in 2018

Even though he might sign for 1 or 2 years, the lasting effect he will leave on a club will be amazing. They get a gun halfback, a captain and a specialist halves coach all in one. Really hope he goes to the Tigers, would have the potential to turn Tedesco into the games best fullback

Haha nobody will want Moses and Brooks now. Sucks to be them

I'd gladly chuck a million at Cronk right now and keep one of them for cheap

The Bronco's want Moses so I don't think this affects him too much. Brooks will stay at the Tigers imo, honestly cannot see any club offering him big bucks.

TBH I can see him at the Roosters - they'll figure out a way.

Bit like the way you signed Sam Burgess for $252K for his first contract, when his manager told the Roosters and the Tigers that he would not listen to offers under $400K. Also like you the NRL allowed you to get Surgess back for $500K on the cap, despite paying him loads more. A deal that was brokered by Shane Richardson when he was still employed by the NRL.

Gee they'll have some coin to throw around this year and next. Even average halves cost a pretty penny. Could be a silver lining for succession planning? My wife is quite happy on this particular point and wants to see a replacement for Cronk plus a forward brought in. If it were me I'd be looking at:

1. Slater
6. Bird
7. Munster
8. Bromwich
9. Smith
10. Matulino/Woods

He's not coming to us. I actually think we're heading towards a bit of a clean out to be honest. SKD and Guerra aren't performing for us and they are on good money, plus they are almost 30, while Aubusson is also heading toward the big 3-0 (although he is still a good first grader). Both SKD and Guerra are off contract.

I suspect he already has a good idea where he's going. There aren't many Syd based clubs who have plenty of room in the cap and a vacancy at 7, I doubt he'd pull the pin on Melbourne without some due diligence first.

Parra, Dogs and Wests are the only options I see, and the latter two would need to do some roster-juggling to accommodate him anyway.

My tip is Parra and I hope it happens. Please not the Dogs. They may not even have the cap room but they always find a way.

I'd have thought he'd just retire, been an absolute gem to watch over the years and I wouldn't want to see him ruin what he accomplished at Melbourne by joining another team for one last swan song..

Is that sound I hear Peter Doust furiously scouring Ben Hunt's contract looking for a way out?
They may as well just ask Hunt if he'd be interested in going to Melbourne instead and be coached by Bellamy rather than McGregor. He's also remain playing for a Queensland team.

I think he is more thinking about the mountain of cash he can make for a few years of footy, vs his legacy at the storm.

Be a great fit at the Tigers for 2 years to mentor Moses(Brooks to Melbourne/Dogs/Broncs as mentioned before). I think 2 years would also coincide with N Cleary coming off contract at Penrith......

I love a good speculation

I would literally cry as hard as genius20/Alien does when lol@souffs lose a game if that were to happen
