just watched the highlight reel on the nrl website and I have to say after 20+
frame pauses nightingale got there first... another shocking display from the officials, and that crunching hit by lewis should of sent alarm bells shoulder first imo..
geez I hope we can re-group and get some momentum to beat the tigers at scg..
the guys must feel like shit after that..

Sorry to disappoint you but Fifita's arm got there simultaneously at worst & as you know, that's a try. I'm not trying to be a smart a**, but please watch Fifita's arm. ( I'm a Dragons fan too )

I agree with you re Lewis hit on Nightingale. He could've been pinged for that or the fact the ball went forward off his arm after the hit. The Dragons had multiple chances to close that game out though. It should never have come down to 2 freaky tries to lose.

...i thought it was grounded by Nighty first.

If it was ruled 'no try' by the ref and the Video refs concurred - no one would be arguing the point.

Still, it did not cost us the game - scoring Zero pts in the 2nd half did.

I cannot believe they checked it only once tho.

mannnn, i am so over Saints getting ahead by a large margin only to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!....i just knew at half time we'd do that, as we did against Canterbury, problem is, we aren't just getting ahead by two tries and then letting teams come from behind-we are getting ahead by 3 tried at least!!!...where's the cohesion and grit....i can't believe they lost this one in the last two minutes, just when i thought we might just get the points....grrrrrrr:x

Funny how you just know... huh?

At half time in tonight's game I thought the same.

rewind to about this time 2010. Playing Tigers in Major semi, we were down at half time, or down midway thru the 2nd half, and I had exactly the same knowing ....except that we would WIN !!!

sigh : (

Mitch f**king Rein.

I've had 4 scotches and still can't stop saying it.

yeah, he looks to be playing in slow motion frequently at dummy half. I would like to see more urgency from him at times to ensure he's at dummy half when we need to have good service for a vital play. This happens regularly on the last & the team ends up rushing a kick that has no chance of leading to a try or a repeat set. He showed he is capable of doing this once when he put in a well placed grubber that led to a goal-line dropout. He needs to be shown that by a coach & also the usual debacles on the last.

Why did Price not use Will Mathews? I can't believe he did not get a run, at least for 10 - 15 minutes to give Rein a much needed break. FMD.

Once again very disappointing ending to our game,of the last two tries I can go with Fifitas but have no doubt that Lewis has either 1 knocked on or 2 shoulder charged Nighty or both. Having said that the main reasons we lost were the usual reasons,Rein drops ball early in tackle count & they score in the next six & our main problem was poor kicking options at their end with at least 4 kicks being caught on the full in goal which gifted them 20 metres straight away this has been a massive problem all season. After this shattering loss I am worried about beating the tigers next week & knowing our luck Benji will have his one & only good game for the year I just hope they will not be too down on confidence although I must admit for a team in their position they have not stopped trying.

Grow a pair Dragons board and sack the useless Muppet whom dares to call himself coach of arguably the proudest RL club in the world. Makes me sick to the stomach what this imposter has bought to the Red V.

Whats worse the muppet or the muppet who signs and then re signs the muppet?

On the upside the 1 to 12 option with the other team has become a cash cow. :(

I have been more moderate in any criticism of Mitch Rein.

But seriously, the stuttering attack (although better overall tonight), so frequently starts with the service out of dummy half - not just in his choice of option, but the execution.

And of course THAT mistake! ...cost us dearly.

I hope Steve Price is attending to this somehow with Mitch - but alas, I don't see any evidence of it.

I cant believe how bad the Sharks were and Saints were held scoreless in the second half. Actually Saints scored 1 try in the last 65mins. How embarassing is that. The lowlights in this season continue.

Mental toughness has been a big problem with this team, the inability to protect a big lead and also win the close games this year and last year.

Can someone explain the non use of Mathews from the bench? Surely it would have been handy to have fresh legs on the field at the end of the game & I can't remember weyman coming on in the 2nd half which makes it even stranger,no wonder the forwards got tired.

I have to wonder the coaches thoughts by dropping drinkwater off the bench and have another forward ( who didn't even get used ) there? Rein played 80 and obviously is not up to it yet, mind you he had to have made 50 tackles, surely the option drinkwater to half and fien to hooker might have sparked some attack in the 2nd half? How good was knighting ale chiming in to back line in first half! What happened to that in the 2nd????

It has been a long and painful season, so please excuse this post....

Im not usually one to point the finger of blame, but Im going to make an exception this once. Mitch Rein and Nathan Fein were terrible in the 2nd half. There were countless opportunities to put them away in the 2nd half, time and again these two stuffed it by taking the 'wrong' option. They all but completely ignored the left-side despite having the numbers (5 on 3 on 3 consecutive sets), and quinlan, vidot and morris screaming for the ball. I can only imagine it was a 'tactic' to attack the right side, if it was then Im throwing Price in there for criticism too.

Very dissapointing loss obviously but the really sad thing is with 3 minutes to go I actually thought Cronulla were going to pull off a win, and they did 2 years ago if Saints were leading 18-6 at halftime I knew it was in the bag. The fact we could not manage a single point in the second half when we had the majority of the momentum is very dissapointing.
