Crowd next Sunday, Bulldogs v Tigers at ANZ

25k is never a disappointing crowd for the NRL but the circumstances allowed for a much better figure. Poor weather the previous night and overcast conditions on Sunday morning, coupled with Benji's absence from the side probably kept the fickle away.

There would have been 20k dogs fans.

Tigers fans probably thought they would end up getting bashed or something.

A game between 2 of Sydneys biggest crowd drawers, with a bit of a rivalry between each other, on a Sunday afternoon. And the crowd was only 25k. Pathetic.

Like I said, according to a forum gimp like you.

The NRL's current average is about 17k, 25k is a fine Sydney crowd under any circumstances. Your bestest mates, the AFL's pink twinkies, who only play in Sydney once a fortnight failed to match it, is their crowd pathetic?

Actually, don't bother answering, that was rhetorical.

Your expectations may not have been reached, but you're a f**king imbecile so your expectations aren't exactly relevant.

I know that is tongue-in-cheek but I haven't been to see a game involving the Dogs for 8 years, thanks to some of their fans...

I suggest you try again now. Things have changed quite a fit, and those idiots aren't there anymore (yeah, there is going to be the odd bit of trouble, but no more than any other teams game)

Wests Tigers probably don't have as strong a rivalry with the Bulldogs as other teams do, like Parramatta, St George, Roosters etc. And same goes for the other way around. Tigers seem to have bigger rivalries with the Rabbitohs, Dragons and Eels than the Bulldogs.
Good crowd, something to build on.

Wouldn't blame anyone for staying away from a Dogs game, even though I still go.

Going back to ANZ reminded me of how much of a soulless concrete dump it is. Absolutely sh*t ground.

My comment wasn't tongue in cheek.

I used to get annoyed by comments like that from opposition fans but I have seen that they are 100% correct. I don't blame you for choosing not to attend tbh.

if tigers had brang 40% of fans there woulda been over 30k there for sure. Looking at the crowd at the game and it definately seemed as though there was closer to 30k there.

A great day,A great clash,a great game--deserved more--the withdrawal of Benji would have turned a few away and a very small minority of the Bankstown Broncos supporters turn a few people off but for me the biggest turn off is ANZ stadium, has the atmosphere of rockwood cemetery, just a crappy football venue. Anyway still went to the game and both sides really put on a good match and a draw would have been a fair result but at the end of the day the dogs took their chances and the tigers didnt

Yep, ANZ is a dump.

Easy to get to for me and easy to park, but an awful venue to watch a club game at. Just no atmosphere whatsoever.

I thought it was well over 30k when I walked in.

The souths game had 23k and looked nowhere near that full. Both sides looked pretty damn full and so did each end behind the posts

each end behind the goal posts looked pretty damn full? Not even close, scattered people at best.

When crowd figure popped up I was suprised it was 25k, looked pretty average on TV.

Good crowd, expected a little more but maybe just cause I was reading this thread.

It wasn't anywhere near full behind the goals but there was more than usual that's for sure.

The Eastern and Western stands looked quite full though.

After being at the dogs vs rabbits game which was 23k, it looked like there was a whole lot more there yesterday than there was at the rabbits game

one of the sides behind the goal posts were full, the other side was scattered

a bit disappointed with the amount of tigers supporters; the 25k crowd, looked about 25k-high 30's anyway

Parra, Penrith, Wests and Bulldogs need to flog off their assets and build a decent stadium somewhere for themselves! a 30,000 modern stadium for those teams to share would solve alot of problems and stop the game looking ridiculous on TV.
