The expectations have got out of hand. I like that we're more optimistic and expect more but this crowd was very good given the conditions.

45,631 immediately vindicates the decision to relocate the game.

To be totally fair, they should've petitioned the NRL to have it played Saturday arvo at the SCG in lieu of what happened in R22 but meh... whatever.

Im happy with the change to be honest.

Would have been 50k plus without the shitty weather today.

We have to think big when it comes to the super sydney clubs in finals.

45k at ANZ still looks good on the tele, especially that wide side-on shot.

There is only 34000 public seats at sfs.

The members would not of all come. Would of got about 38 k

Look how many we got there in 2005 39 k from memory

And it was a sellout

Was a pretty good crowd I thought, both sides packed, second levels packed and reasonable amount top sections. Both ends a bit sparse but they were shithouse tickets anyway

^this... a full bottom tier would look so much better for the game

It's all supply and demand, and clearly people would rather sit on Level 6 on the sideline at $55 than behind the ingoals at $20.

They had the choice, and the fans demanded the higher level, so whilst the space is there, give them what they want.

It was announced as 41,260, which is the highest RL crowd in the last 10 years.

The highest ever RL crowd at the SFS is 42,482, back in the 97 Grand Final, so the move to ANZ is justified considering RL generally has an issue selling out the last 10% of any venue...

Wouldnt have got near 40k never mind 45k at the SFS, so the NRL got this decision spot on. Better weather pre-game would have seen those category 3 tickets in the ends snapped up, to fill out the lower bowl completely.

Is that a sydney record for a week 1 qualifying final?

Does any body know the largest crowd at sfs ? Since they re did the first 15 rows

Which I believe was the reason the capacity was changed from 42 to 45 k

12k up on the Roosters/Tigers semi last year at the SFS, that was in good weather, this was in rain. Good crowd. Anyone who was expecting 60k was kidding themselves.

yep that's true and it would've been stupid to force fans to select the lower bowl  but for some odd reason i do remember the Saints v Melbourne prelim final of 2006 having a 40k crowd and the whole bowl was full
