I think some fans are getting sick of the constant Friday night games at Suncorp. A few Sunday afternoon games would help crowd numbers. Dragons @ Broncos got over 42,000 last year on a Sunday.

your last " Sunday " arvo game got the same paltry turnout of 30K

next theory

Did you read his post X. Factor? He said a few Sunday games would be good for crowd numbers. Of course it's not going to be as great sponsorship or ratings wise depending on a string of factors.

What im trying to say Didgi is why do the Broncos get to chose when other clubs are shafted to ugly, financially disadvantaged time slots.

It is absurd that and Broncos supporter can say that they would get a better crowd on a sunday afternoon, when practically every Broncos supporter knows that friday night is their time slot, so they could at least come to some games.

I am not having a go at the Broncos(the team) but the supporters that want everything to be perfect for them to go to a game.

You mean the Broncos only Sunday game this year against the Raiders, which haven't really been a draw card this year. No origin stars for that game either.

Having virtually every Bronocs game on Friday means they are always on live FTA which makes it that little bit easier for lazy Broncos fans to stay home and watch. You can also add in the yearly price rises of food & drink at Suncorp. By next season a plastic cup of XXXX Gold will hit $7. It's a bunch of little things eating away at the crowd numbers.

Next year will be very interesting without Lockyer.

Bronco v Titans crowds of recent years. All games played at Suncorp Stadium.

2007 48,621
2008 39,757
2009 43,079
2010 40,168
2011 31,035

Compared to last years crowd, this years has dropped by 9,133 or 22 percent.

Compared to the best crowd of 2007 this years figure has dropped by 17,586 or 36 percent.

Before last nights game Brisbane was averaging 30,740 fans per game. Which is down on last years figure of 34,377. That is a drop off of 3,637 or 11 percent.

You have to go back to the 2005 season before you found a poorer average for the Broncos.

"THE success of the Queensland Reds and Brisbane Roar threatens to deny the Brisbane Broncos the opportunity to play finals footy in front of a packed house at Suncorp Stadium.

In an extraordinary outcome for Brisbane sports fans, the popularity of the three teams has put the stadium at risk of breaching its annual cap on big games.

Under the little-known terms of Lang Park's development approval, the stadium is only permitted to host 24 big games each year _ a crowd of more than 25,000 people _ due to concerns over noise and traffic congestion.

The Broncos, fifth on the ladder before last night's game, have exceeded 25,000 people for six of their eight home games this year and still have to play the New Zealand Warriors, South Sydney and Manly.

After that, stadium operators have tentatively scheduled a Broncos qualifying final, semi-final and preliminary final in September, not knowing where the team will finish or the draw for the finals.

To comply with the terms of the development approval _ set 10 years ago when the Reds still played at Ballymore and the Roar did not exist _ the stadium would either have to abandon some games or limit ticket sales to fewer than 25,000.

Both scenarios would cause problems for the teams and their governing bodies.

If the Broncos had to move a final to a Brisbane venue with more than 25,000 seats, they could potentially use the Gabba, where the Brisbane Lions are unlikely to be playing finals in September."

losing a finals game from a world class venue that was built for the Broncos to an Cricket field is not a "Big Deal"?

The Gabba only hold 42,000 as well, where Suncorp holds 52,000.
Well we play big games every now and then at the SCG and the sky doesn't suddenly fall in...
Lol, it will be at Suncorp for certain.
No it won't. It's part of the stadiums development approval. Meaning they were only allowed to build the joint if they agreed to this rule. They'd open themselves up to lawsuits if they go ahead. Rules are there for a reason.

The rules will be revised. That's what common sense is about.
