Thats a 3k drop of last years crowd of 48,516 between the Cowboys and Broncos

sh*t
Yes 48516 watched the same fixture in 2010 and in 2009 45022 watched it.
In 2007 it was 50416 and in 2006 it was 46229.

But in 2005 in which it was the record year for the NRL the same game only got 43488.

So whats a few thousand the game seems to have had a great opening weekend.

we could easily crack 200 thousand if we can get the following crowds:

warriors - 36k
titans - 25k
storm - 20k
panthers - 20k
raiders -15k
dogs - 25k

They say the only 2 certain things in life are death and taxes.

I'd like to add to that and say we certainly won't get 20k against the Knights on Sunday arvo. Being optimistic I'll say 15Kish if it's good weather and plenty of Knights fans travel.

It's always hard to judge the crowd at the SFS when you're sitting on the Western side.
Western and Eastern lower stands were both close to full, members was packed, and the southern end was about half full. The northern end was pretty empty. I couldnt see the Western grandstand.

I guessed at 32k when I was at the game, assuming/hoping that there was a decent crowd in the section I couldn't see. I guess there wasn't.

I thought the SFS crowd was extremely disappointing. Local derby, GI, round 1 etc. We should have been looking at 35k minimum IMO.

Cracking game though.

Agree cracking game but disagree about the crowd as i thought it would pull nothing more then 25000.
Have a look abouth the Souths Roosters crowds which i posted.

Roosters do a 'Travelling Rooster' membership which gets us into the Bulldogs v Roosters and Souths v Roosters games at ANZ for cheap.

Rabbitohs should do a similar thing: $20 for a ticket to Roosters v Souths at the SFS and Bulldogs v Souths dogs home game at ANZ.

There were less Rabbitohs fans than I expected at the SFS last night.

Agreed. The crowd last night was in the same range as crowds from the last handful of years. Perhaps the couple of thousand who didn't show up were bandwagoners going to the A-League grand final at Suncorp on Sunday?

Speaking of the crowds the members' merchandise line was enormous at the Milton Road end. It snaked across the length of the entryway and back and forward a bit. Nonetheless, they moved people very quickly, and there were no tempers in the line. Good effort Broncos (temporary?) staffers. And further speaking of memberships, they were being pumped last night: on the blimp, on the sideline and on the big screen. Wouldn't be surprised to see numbers bump a little bit more.

& in 2009 it was 45,022
so its there or there abouts

a little dissapointing yes & also considering I don't think either team will be above the bottom 4 ... ... its not a disaster
I think even the AFL would be happy with a crowd in a game between 2 bottom 4 sides drawing 45K ;-)

In fairness there will be around 50k at the A-League GF on Sunday and with the cheapest tickets $50 (anywhere on the sideline stands $100) there is only so much people can afford.

I have many mates going to that and have never been to a Roar game but are Broncos regulars and didn't make last night.

off to a decent start ... 73,822 last night

so to crack the magical 200K mark we need another 126,178
todays predictions

Warriors V Eels 37,500
Titans V Dragons 22,500 ( conservative but ticket sales are slow )
Melb V Manly 15,000
thats another 75K bringing us up to 150K odd

Leaving the 2 games tomorrow & Monday night to get more then 50K to bust 200K
I think we'll s,hit it in

This one should prove interesting, as it is the first time that the Rebels and Storm go head to head. The Rebels pulled in about 15k last night from what I read in the paper. Here's hoping the Storm do likewise.

You should not be a little dissapointed with the Broncos v Cowboys crowd as last year both dissapointed plus money is still tight.

The only problem with these crowd threads is some fans big up the crowds and when there numbers fail by only 2000-5000 then they start the season off not happy and making out Crowds are could be better/ok/poor etc.

Yeh where were the bunnies fans last night? Very average turnout from them. Maybe it is true that their fan base has moved west? Friday night gridlocks around Moore park and the threat of rain probably didn't help

Beautiful weather in sydney...

Questions I have - Why do Suns have more members than titans.?

Why do Suns have more facebook twitter followers than titans.?

Why will suns get a bigger opening round crowd than titans ?
