Also, if Canberra win tomorrow, it will be interesting to see if the NRL gets the Souffs/Canberra match to be played at Allianz Stadium. They made Parramatta play their home semi-final against Gold Coast there in 2009. With a Sydney vs non-Sydney fixture, it'd be better to play it at Allianz Stadium.

It should be at SFS regardless.

Bet the Cows have about 300 fans at the SFS this week but nobody complains cause its not Manly that aren't turning up, infact I'll bet you ask whine about the lack of Manly fans there

40 for every single Cow fan like there was last year in the first semi

If you're going to whinge and whine make it fair, but don't let figures get in the way of a good carve up hey mate?

So there's only going to be 12300 there next week? Guess that's a pretty realistic estimate for Moanly fans turning up

Except Manly fans work on the other side of the city mostly, kick off needs to be 9pm for your whine to be relevant

I still can't fathom how you could fit another 5k into DFS last night, the hills were chock a block and there was only a sprinkling of empty seats around the joint.

On a side note, I am sporting the mother of a hangover this morning...........

I don't get why the afl would give the swans an extra recovery day over their number one team

There is only one reason

A big f**k you to the nrl Cos they new Canterbury would want Friday

It's like pros v amateurs

wot are you going on about :sarcasm:

the NRL has first choice for ANZ ..... ALWAYS

they Chose Sat night
the AFL had to change what they do ... not us

Last time the Swans played a final didn't they pull only 19K, and that was pretty generous.

I'd say the AFL has some kind of deal where they paid Stadium Aus for the privilege.

the NRL has the priority pick ... contractually they don't play 2nd fiddle to anyone where ANZ is concerned

as to why they chose Sat over Friday
I have no Idea ....

but in terms of a bigger crowd
Sat will add 5 to 8K to the gate & if its the Bunnies playing the Dogs it may sell out ... Fridays are a nightmare
no chance of a sellout regardless of who's playing.

Will they give the Storm 2 weeks to sell the game out??

From memory the NRL put a rule in after the dragons tigers 2005 match that they would only start selling tickets the week of the match not to lock out oppostion fans. (once both teams where known)

I would at least give bulldog members and storm members all week to pre purchase tickets for the week 3 games and then open it up to the general public on the Monday before the game.

Beer prices is not a legitimate complaint. Do people go to the footy just to drink? Just don't buy beer. If you can't stand watching your team without drinking maybe you shouldn't follow football.

People go to sporting events to enjoy themselves. You don't need to drink at literally any location but people have social drinks as an added part of the enjoyment. Nothing revolving around a trip to the footy is an essential part of the trip, even the going part clearly isn't essential. Hence my complaint is completely legitimate.

Beer prices are a reason for not going to watch a game? Another classic reason to add to the long list of pish poor excuses for not supporting your team.

As I said previously, it is about improving the experience. People don't like feeling ripped off at any aspect of attending the football. Anyone who says beer prices alone are the reason people don't go to the footy don't go to the footy anyway.

Everyone wants bigger crowds but as soon as people list contributing factors that add up to the main reason people find staying at home more attractive they brush it off as a "pish poor excuse" or not being a "true fan". it's f**king bullshit if you ask me. If someone on an internet forum can pick up little things that, if fixed, will get more people to our game you can bet there's another 1000 thinking it offline.

And as i said, I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to hear you defend the Pirates shit home crowds (which will come) and every man and his dog hammering your "pish poor" excuses and calling your fellow Pirate Crew not real fans.

DFS was announced as 21k when Ray and co were talking about some incident, you could hear it in the background. Then some time later Ray chimes in with "capacity 26,000 in here" or something like that.

Storm crowd was good.

Not the only reason but it is a factor, they are just too expensive. I am happy paying 4-5 bucks but 7-8 or whatever it just plain over the top.
