1989 GF Canberra v Balmain. Crowd 40,500
1990 GF Canberra v Penrith. Crowd 41,535
1991 GF Canberra v Penrith. Crowd 41,815
1992 GF Brisbane v St George. Crowd 41,560
1993 GF Brisbane v St George. Crowd 42,329
1994 GF Canberra v Canterbury. Crowd 42234
1995 GF Bulldogs v Manly. Crowd 41127
1996 GF Manly v St George. Crowd 40,985
1997 GF Newcastle v Manly. Crowd 42482 SL GF not played at SFS. Ground record for a RL match.

It's good to see coaches at the game in team colours. Business suits belong in the boardroom not at the football.

Why the f**k didnt the NRL schedule the Manly game for a Saturday and the Bunnies game for a Sunday? The NRL can't blame the fans for not turning up if they cant get off work in time to go on a Friday night.

iirc in the early days at the SFS the tickets behind the non-video screen end where for scg trust members. if you look closely at old replays there is a fence dividing the public section from the members section and thats where they are some empty seats.

Those grand finals where sold out but a handful of members didnt turn up.

This game is being held on friday because the winner plays Melbourne Next Friday... The Canberra V South game is saturday because the winner plays the Bulldogs next Saturday.

And so those 2 games couldn't also be scheduled on a Saturday and Sunday.

Assuming so there isn't a clash with the Swans and Hawthorn home games. In any case, the NRL shouldn't have to bend over backwards for the Manly fans

It's an 8pm kickoff FFS. If you work in the CBD, you have some after work drinks and head straight to the game. If you're a bum doing nothing living on the Manly foreshore, pop on a ferry. That's a terrible excuse.

Saturday Night didn't help the 13,972 odd that turned up for the Manly v Cowboys final last year at the SFS.

In fact last year's Manly preliminary against the Broncos on a Friday Night at the SFS attracted a fairly respectable 31,894.

Unless its a knockout who really cares?

If Souths can't bring 27,000 of their own people .. before a Raiders fan is even counted
then their fans should hang their heads in shame

should nearly beat the all Sydney crowd from last Friday

LOL. First Raiders crowd above 15k this season and he thinks he's got a moral right to tell other clubs what they should get.

Even though hosting Canberra is one of the least attractive H&A fixtures to attend (our worst home crowd this year was against them), we'll draw +30k easily.
