I know TV hates it but these finals should be on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Those are the two best times for families.

Or they could drop the prices - I admire the $35K who paid the high cost of a ticket on Friday night, no wonder the ground wasn't half full. The NRL really never learn do they.

their players may have earnt it

their fans have earned nothing but ridicule however & the eternal tag as the competitions biggest jokes ;-)

Get over yourself, you keep having the biggest bitch in this thread, constantly having a go at every other teams supporters about their low crowds when Canberra has had the worst this season. Big f**king deal you got an ok crowd to a final, that still doesn't excuse how shit your crowds have been this season, it also doesn't give you the right to have a go at every other team.

Just f**k off and stop ruining this threads, you keep having a bitch fit and somehow elected yourself as NRL crowd expert.

Whilst I agree with you on your sentiments about Manly's fans and their lack of support for the team in travelling to finals at the SFS in recent years is terrible (although scheduling an SFS Manly home final on a Friday night is the worst possible scheduling time), this criticism coming from a Raiders fan of all clubs is a bit rich. Canberra fans have hardly earned the moral high ground on crowds. Manly's home average - in a dump of a ground that's currently with restricted capacity due to redevelopment - still averaged higher that Canberra's in a modern, shiny, all-seater facility.

Canberra has made the finals this year, and hasn't missed consecutive finals since 1985-86, yet your crowds are the worst in the league and have been pretty much close to the bottom in averages in recent years. I know you don't want to hear this and I will cop a spray for it but that's pretty disgraceful to be brutally frank.

Even Penrith's crowds (which are also a joke) are marginally above Canberra's but at least the Panthers fans had an excuse this year - they have a crap team. What's Canberra's excuse? Sorry the "cold weather' arguement doesn't wash - if Canberrans choose to live there then you have to cop the good with the bad of living in a place like Canberra (although I agree Sunday afternoon games during the cold winter months would be best - but every club has to cop the scheduling rough end of the pineapple throughout the season).

Sure, the crowd at the semi final was fantastic, but where have these fake bandwagon supporters been all year? (and I'm not having a go at the true diehards that turn up every week).

Canberra went close to becoming the first club in years to have a season average of below 10,000 this year. So before having a go at other teams, have a look in the mirror and look past the one-in-a-Halley's-Comet semi final capacity crowd of fake bandwagoners for the finals and be honest about Canberra's embarrasing crowds.

i'm just waiting for a piss-poor response from raiderdave that's guaranteed to be full of :sarcasm:

Not going for this very reason. Would love to go, but can't be arsed dealing with an irritated, sleepy 5 year old at 8:30pm. Kiddo is a league nut and loves going to the footy, not at bedtime though. :(

The NRL should market other Sydneysiders to go cheer against Manly.

The benefit would be a bit of interest in the game, some hype, some neutrals attending, and perhaps fire up manly fans to attend

and here we go with the same Sh.it from last week
the same sydney blah bla bah

Like I said
Sydney NRL sides would struggle to get to 5000 on average if their fans had to contend with the way our side played for most of this year & the last 18 years .. & our weather conditions
wot part of that dont you geniuss understand
Manly fans & a lot of other sides don't have that excuse
& anyway
this isnt the home & away season anymore F wit
its the finals
our fans know how to respond to them
most Sydneysiders it seems .... don't ;-)

Dave, mate, love your passion but seriously give it up, we of all teams don't have the right to gloat about our crowd figures... Canberra is known as a bandwagon town as evidenced by last week's crowd.

If we were to have a winning team on a consistent basis and packed out crowds then we have the right to gloat...

And here we go again about the bloody cold weather. Saying Canberra is cold is like saying Dubai is hot, we know that. It is not going to change so it is not an excuse for Canberra fans.

If the cold does affect the attendance all year every year than either put a roof on the stadium or relocate the team. Otherwise STFU and deal with the fact that a 6th placed side embarrassingly had the worst attendance of all 16 teams.

but thats just the point
we would

some Sydney NRL sides are winning on a regualr basis
& their fans can still only muster 8000 tickets sold to an elimination final

this being my point.
nuh .... I'll continue to tell it like it is
they need a rocket up em.... & i'm the rocket ;-)
