Came on to say stop being stereotyping racist f**kwits.

Racist? The hell? The bottom-feeding, welfare dependant gutter-trash that make up the supporter base of your club aren't one single race. Souffs fans are comprised of the lowest common denominator of all races. It's not the various colours of their skin that i'm ridiculing, it's the lack of content in their character.

Back on topic, I actually do predict that there will be a surge in ticket sales today, and that the biggest factor in this surge will be the sudden availability of welfare money to Souffs supporters.

Nah, Souffs had the early surge in ticket sales because their supporters have been saving up the money they've been getting from the toof fairy over the last 40 years for just this kind of occasion. Dogs fans will have a surge today as a result of welfare payments. Should all balance out in the end.

Please... A little bias are we? 40,000 Parramatta fans? It was 50/50 if any team had a slight edge it would've been 1,000 max swing!! You also have to remember the media had a wankfest over Jarryd Hayne that whole week, every article; report etc was on Parramatta and Hayne!!

46,000 Round 26?? Your point? You had two players retiring (Greats of your club)... I was at that game and yes Parramatta fans were the over whelming majority, at least 8 or so thousand were either St George supporters or Neutrals like myself!! Bulldogs in 2009 got 42K against a team from NZ. All members were allowed in but did any go??? Adult tickets $5  talking from your backside!!!

Parramatta have a good size bandwagon... You guys have an average size supporter base who goes to every game (Win, lose or Draw)...
i've quoted alot of facts to back up my arguement, re r26, u tell me any wooden spoon team in sydney that could get 40 odd thousand fans to a game, regardless of the occasion ,dont forget for hazems farewell the dogs were coming first as well.
There are 5 major clubs in sydney that can attract the huge crowds we are seeing in recent prelim finals, parra , dragons, bulldogs, tigers, and rabbits, the other clubs just dont have big enough support bases. Also the dragons and tigers are joint ventures and still couldnt break the crowd record in 2010.
The final split in 2009 was eels 53% and dogs 47%.

Yes , i might be a little bias but the facts dont lie.

i have to say also that all the teams i mentioned above have great support , without a doubt aswell as membership and average crowds and there is not much between all of them.
When it comes to the big occasions parra seem to have just a bit more support to draw on than the others

I agree the Eels are a big club and if they ever get their shit on the field in order then watch out.

That's why they need to ditch Parra Stadium for half of their games. 20k capacity is a joke for a club with so much crowd-pulling potential if they happen to hit a good patch.

spot on, they've been playing 2 games a year at ANZ for a while, but i think they need 4 games a year v dogs, rabbits, dragons and tigers , if they can average 30k for those 4 games and atleast 15-16k for the remaining games at parra it would work well.Parra stad has a master plan for a 32000 seat expansion - hopefully one day soon

I reckon the tooth stuff etc is pretty funny, I joke about it all the time.

That said, your rant goes way beyond that.

There are many Souths fans that are battlers, no doubt about it.
So what, does that make them an inferior supporter?

If so, there are also many Souths fans that would buy out a scum sucking, taxpayer leech, public servant like you multiple times over.

Just saying.

In terms of the "big" club debate for now it's:

Tier 1:
Canterbury
Souths
Parra

Tier:2
Wests
St George

Tier 3:
Cronulla
Easts
Manly
Penrith

What separates tier 1 and 2 from the rest is the ability to maintain healthy crowds even in lean years.

What separates tier 1 from 2 is their respective ceilings in good years.

so according to your tiers

an all tier 1 prelim final ... should beat an all tier 2 prelim final crowd if they were both on a Sat night
figure to beat 71,212

&

an all tier 1 prelim final on a sat night .. should beat an all tier 1 prelim final that was played on a friday night
figure to beat 74,549

a record turnout for a non grand final this sat night is assured then ?;-)

your kidding if u think the rabbits have the biggest supporter base in sydney. They have done very well in the membership department, but as far as general wide spread support, parramatta have proven time after time that they have the biggest fan base of any nsw based club. A few recent examples are as follows
1. Recorded the highest ever ratings for an nrl game on foxtel 2 years in a row in 2010 (365k v roosters) & 2011 (407k v cowboys) - this record still stands

2. 2009 prelim final record crowd v dogs - 74,500 of which atleast 40000 were parra fans

3.Facebook page has 142,500 likes , despite finishing at bottom of ladder for the last 2 years, this is by far the biggest page of any nsw team and 3rd highest in nrl behind broncos and storm

4. Roy morgan surveys over the last 12 years show on average over that period that parra has the most fans of any other nrl team in nsw

5. The r26 game for hindys farewell drew nearly 46000 fans, of which about 42000 were parra fans. This is unbeleivable considering the team had already been handed the wooden spoon, and all tickets were full price. For Hazems farewell in 2009, all members were allowed in for free, kids under 16 were free, adult tickets were about $5 and the match was promoted for months, on a sunny sunday arvo they got 41000, parra's game was at the shocking time of 6.30pm on sunday
these days facebook provides the biggest sample group to determine popularity, with more than 8 million aussies on fb. All sports teams have had fb pages for 2-3 years which has given fans time to like their favourite team. The top aussie sports clubs on fb are....

1. broncos - 261k
2. collingwood - 212k
3. essendon - 211k
4. storm - 185k
5. parramatta - 142k
6. west coast - 130k
7. carlton - 123k

Is it just me or are people really trying to argue which group has the biggest amount bandwagon fans like its a good thing?

Haha, so why aren't the Storm geting crowds as big as their popularity suggests?

Fact is Parra have a huge potential fanbase but the majority of it is just bandwagoners. When Parra are going rubbish few outside the core supporter group will even publicly acknowledge their support for the club but when they reach a GF, they pretend they were always there.

it seems that single city teams like brisbane, melbourne and gold coast titans attract alot of likes from local people that might not be real fans. Teams like collingwood, essendon and parra would be more likely to attract actual fans .

i agree about the bandwagon fans, all clubs have them, not fair to single out parra, they've been at the bottom for 2 years and this year their average crowds were the 5th best in the nrl
