Annoying how much of a fuss has been made about afl sales. Saw an article saying they were expecting 30,000 to make the trek from Melbourne, but not once have they factored that into the ticket sales comparison. If thats the case there may only be 20,000 Sydney tickets sold...in which case storm is on par :)

And once again bunniesman, if you didn't go to a rare final at homebush I can't see you flying to Auckland for a club game.

Ouch.

Bunniesman should practice what he preaches.

Yep. The AFL is definitely boosted by the influx of dentally challenged Victorians.

There will be 70,000-80,000 locals at the NRL game.

How many locals will be at the fumbleball match?

Exactly. He is by far the dumbest poster here. Even the trolls offer more. He admitted 300km was too far for a finals game. Yet are on others back because they don't travel. Bunniesman f**k off too bigpoofy.

lol now we're really clutching at straws. Say both games gets 75k, take off the apparent 30k Pies supporters traveling up and you sill have 45k locals watching a game involving an interstate team in a sport that the majority of the city hates. As opposed to 75k watching the game involving two of the best supported Sydney teams in a game that's far and away the number one sport.

The bottom line is they're both going to be excellent crowds and while i hope the NRL wins out just so i dont have to see that smug f**k Vlad gloating, i'm also not going to lose any sleep over which one draws the most. Whatever happens there's a little matter of GF's to be played for both codes the week after so i hardly think it'll be harped upon for very long at all given there's much more important things to worry about. With the exception of a select few around here who wont be able to let it go of course.

2 thirds of victorians supported Queensland. A lot of Queensland supporters in that crowd were Melbourne people.

Which is why games should not be played in Melbourne unless 50% of tickets are sold to NSW supporters.

Why does this surprise you? We've got the biggest supporter base in Sydney but thousands of them haven't bothered to come in the last decade because of the lack of success. Now with the momentum of this season we're seeing 'dormant' Souths supporters come from everywhere.

I think we're potentially looking at a membership base of +50k if we have a sustained (at least 5 yrs continuous) period of success.

You had several cracks at us last week and we turned up. And now you're having more cracks this week and we'll still turn up in droves.
your kidding if u think the rabbits have the biggest supporter base in sydney. They have done very well in the membership department, but as far as general wide spread support, parramatta have proven time after time that they have the biggest fan base of any nsw based club. A few recent examples are as follows
1. Recorded the highest ever ratings for an nrl game on foxtel 2 years in a row in 2010 (365k v roosters) & 2011 (407k v cowboys) - this record still stands

2. 2009 prelim final record crowd v dogs - 74,500 of which atleast 40000 were parra fans

3.Facebook page has 142,500 likes , despite finishing at bottom of ladder for the last 2 years, this is by far the biggest page of any nsw team and 3rd highest in nrl behind broncos and storm

4. Roy morgan surveys over the last 12 years show on average over that period that parra has the most fans of any other nrl team in nsw

5. The r26 game for hindys farewell drew nearly 46000 fans, of which about 42000 were parra fans. This is unbeleivable considering the team had already been handed the wooden spoon, and all tickets were full price. For Hazems farewell in 2009, all members were allowed in for free, kids under 16 were free, adult tickets were about $5 and the match was promoted for months, on a sunny sunday arvo they got 41000, parra's game was at the shocking time of 6.30pm on sunday

Please... A little bias are we? 40,000 Parramatta fans? It was 50/50 if any team had a slight edge it would've been 1,000 max swing!! You also have to remember the media had a wankfest over Jarryd Hayne that whole week, every article; report etc was on Parramatta and Hayne!!

46,000 Round 26?? Your point? You had two players retiring (Greats of your club)... I was at that game and yes Parramatta fans were the over whelming majority, at least 8 or so thousand were either St George supporters or Neutrals like myself!! Bulldogs in 2009 got 42K against a team from NZ. All members were allowed in but did any go??? Adult tickets $5  talking from your backside!!!

Parramatta have a good size bandwagon... You guys have an average size supporter base who goes to every game (Win, lose or Draw)...
