only a f**king genius would go into the game with any expectations.
 That's me not in this instance ofcourse but back in 2000 i went to every Chargers game we ended up 1-15,but i still went into each game hoping we could turn it around.
same thing with the Bombers in 98 (3-15) Rockets in 01 (28-54) and Cubs in 02 (67-95)

Odds on :(

Wont be the best start to the season for us crowd wise. Warriors, then cowboys (in darwin), then knights. An in form warriors side could bring quite a few though.

Our as in Roosters? Or the NRL?

If the latter, there were two in Round 1 unfortunately.

I can understand why people object to the price. Solution - don't buy the shit.

Do you support people getting plastered and making other people uncomfortable, causing a scene, getting thrown out etc?
Canterbury fans do all that without alcohol...

Lets see a family is 2 adults and 2 children...at $30 a ticket that is $120....then kids want food, drinks....it all ads up. Honestly kids under 16 should not have to pay for tickets regardless whether you are members or not. A night at the football is not a cheap night out for a family....put it this way you can go to an ORIGIN game spending probably only $25-40 more...now what is better value....

this is why it would be a good idea to have a fci so we could compare prices across the league and against other sports

I can tell you I spend less at an AFL game (maybe it is because I am a member) than a league game. The harsh reality is that as Australians we are in a period where every dollar we spend has to be considered, it is a time of economic downturn so families make decisions. Put it this way at the start of each season I basically say I have $1500 to spend on football (honestly I can't afford any more). I tend to go to the Origin in QLD so that is 1 or 2 games straight away and I do go to the ANZAC AFL game as I am always in Melbourne at the time. That does not leave many games to choose from.

That said, I agree I would love to know a comparison...but AFL memberships are 1000 times better and more affordable (with better benefits) and that is where the NRL needs to improve to get crowds. As a NRL club there should be NO reason why you can't get 25,000 members, none at all....if you can't well the memberships are wrong...AFL clubs have 50,000+ members at some clubs!

I've got some advice: have something to eat pre game or take some snacks and if you want to splurge take the kids to maccas after the game.

Unless you're single or have a large disposable income, Stadium food is for suckers.

Looks like the reserved seats at Kogarah are basically sold old for Friday's game, although that could just be a the usual issue of tickets that have not yet been released.

So... $120 on tickets. Leaving... $180 on food for 4 people. Are you for real  Pull your head in, just because you say "it all adds up" it doesn't magically generate an extra $150 in costs.

That story is false - it's not about Bulldogs v Manly in Round 8

A fan cost index doesn't have anything to do with club memberships but does track the cost of attendance for a family of four.
fci includes ticket prices aswell as price of concessions, programs, caps and parking.
