FTR the last time SFS got over 40,000 for NRL was seven years ago - 2005 involving the Dragons vs Tigers which was a finals game. There was another 40k plus crowd in 2003 and the rest were pre-NRL era. Extraordinary crowd for a non finals match.

The thing is with this ANZAC game, in the not too distant future it will probably have to be played at ANZ to accommodate 50-60k............... whilst that will be a good thing, we all know the dramas that stadium has in regards to a more intimate atmosphere and better sight lines that the SFS has. Will be a shame to have to move it but if it means more bums on seats, then they will have to seriously consider the venue choice.

Well done fans of both those sides, let's build on it for next year.
Perfect at the SFS. Let it stay there a while yet

They could always put a second Sydney game on at ANZ before or after the Dragons v Roosters.

A Parra v Dogs game would be one that would def build up over time to get some massive crowds.
Why? The whole reason it works well is it's a stand alone afternoon match on Anzac Day? Let this game stay with the Dragons and Roosters, they do a great job of it.

Fantastic match to be at today and top crowd

Playing at ground with limited seats forces people to committ early.. There were games in recent years in pouring rain at grounds like parra stadium etc with large crowds because people had to committ early or else risk missing out.
If these games were at anz, then you just have to wait until game day as you know there will be tickets.. Then if it pours down you just don't go.

I wonder if the lack of FTA coverage was the reason?

agreed. Unless the ANZAC day game sells out for 5 years consecutively, only then should ANZ be considered imo
