I don't get it, I remember a crowd a few seasons ago that had 10k and change in attendance and the place looked empty. Yet add just 1,000 or 1,500 and it looked well over half full

NRL has some work to do with the Dragons and Roosters after this weekend.

The NRL has more work to do with ITSELF rather than the Dragons. Put tonight's game on yesterday at 3pm and at least another 5k minimum would've turned up.

However, no defending yesterday's crowd at the SFS.

People on here say that every week for just about every game. Newsflash folks, we can't have every game on at 3pm Sunday if we want the riches to continue to flow from PTV and the networks. Perhaps one of the Saturday games could be moved to 3.30 Saturday as a compromise.

Australians are lucky enough to be able to watch their team play live (or almost live) every week on television plus every game being televised. I bet there would be more whinging if it where changed to 2 games being televised per week.

Yes the Roosters game was a poor crowd, but not really a surprise given the opposition. As a whole its been an excellent start to the year crowd wise so some of the reactions on here have been over the top imo

NRL coverage doesn't compare to AFL coverage. 4 lives games on FTA around the country and every game live on pay. TV coverage of NRL games has been static for years.

Considering the pisspoor amount of live footy on FTA our crowds should not be affected by tv and tv should not be used as an excuse.

Would have been at least 15k there if Dragons officials wheeled out Fields of Omagh at halftime and let children poke him with a stick

People on this board have a distorted view of reality.

Most people do not go to the football every week. Most people who actually go probably attend 3 or 4 times a year.

When you have an event like ANZAC day, all the irregulars go (and neutrals) and hence we get 40,000.

The game after is always going to be a let down for saints and roosters games, especially when it's vs penrith or a MNF game.

I know this is asking too much (it is) but in an ideal world, you'd probably have both teams away this weekend. And the next dragons game in Wollongong. You're only ever going to get the diehards and members on a MNF or penrith game

Why do we have to have "Barbie design your oen dress" ads on this forum. I am using an I pad and have had a bit to drink. Every second time I renew the page I end up looking at Barbie's web site.

:o:lol::oops:

hate to break it to you, but the ads are a reflection of your browsing habits. they are quite targeted.

is there something you'd like to get off your chest?

According to this story, 18k tickets have been sold for Wellington this weekend and the crowd could be as high as 25k. That sounds good but I've also been hearing stories about truckloads of freebies being thrown around as well.

I'd also just like to say I've never seen a Barbie ad :)
