Roosters who are also having a big year got 9k against this mob during the f**king day time and I didn't hear this much whingeing.
Surely the Souths bandwagon would come out by now they show up for the Storm game but since then what does it take for a Souths winning team (for once) to get people to show up. We keep hearing about Souths support this, that, 'pride of the league' talk the talk but don't walk the walk at times. Two Sydney teams and get 19k.:sarcasm:
Broncos was decent but Suncorp look weird on TV when considering the attendance.

Our draw might make us look good on the ladder from here on, but it is absolute ass for drawing crowds this year.
We haven't played wests yet you imbecile.
How many times do you need to be told that the reason we bag souffs crowds is because of the mythological fan base
Btw our last 3 home crowds against wests were 15k, 20k and 19k. We weren't on top of the ladder in any of those games nor were we having our best season in living memory. We also drew a crowd higher than our membership base.
Mrs Reason and I can normally pick the crowd within 1000 or so. Tonight we both said 30-31 and were pretty shocked with 34k. The southern top being sold explains it, though, because we couldn't see above our head.
Odd how there were plenty of level 5 gaps at the northern end but 2 (?) bays of level 7 open.
Edit: photo 2 of your is almost directly above my level 5 seat!
Ill admit the Broncos are going pretty well this year crowd wise albeit with a strong home shedule so far. Great that they are maintaining there average over 30k when they aren't a gun side any longer
The fact it was against a Sydney team is only relevant if the away fans show up.
20k is a great crowd for a night game against a shit team.

A good draw would help, we are playing nothing but cellar dwellers and out of city teams for the next 15 rounds. The first 8 rounds had some blockbusters, but were all away games. We don't have another genuine blockbuster until rd. 24. Before that, maybe we will get a good crowd for the Dragons game? Depending on how they are going

But you are the most supported club in the known universe and souffs are going well so rugby league must also be going well.
I would have thought the "pride of the league" wouldn't have any trouble pulling a crowd
 FMD Souths, eternally the victim.
Nothing about being a victim, just circumstance of other teams competitiveness. If Dragons, eels or Tigers were performing better the issue would be less significant. I also blame the club for taking the Manly game to Bluetongue stadium, ridiculous move.
There is also an issue with scheduling. We have one Sunday home game all year, almost everything is Friday night. Great for TV ratings, but it conflicts with crowds.[/QUOTE]
I was about to agree with you, then I thought of the Broncos who play most if not all their home games on a Friday night.

Maybe if we were the only NRL game in the city all weekend for every weekend we might get there

I can and will agree with you on that.
well played. You took up 4000 seats.
We got belted in the two subsequent games (or should I say the dogs game and the sharks because the crowd didn't know we'd get smacked in advance of the dogs game) and there was a $10 ticket promotion for your game.
Stop hating Souths so hard and you might be able to look at things with a bit of perspective.
well played.
FFS I'm sick of this cop out every time this argument is had. I have Souths fans AGREEING me on Twitter - it's not good enough to only draw in 19,718 against a local team (the one whose head office is within 10 minutes of the ground).
What promotion was done for SOU v MEL that wasn't last night? The crowd in Round 6 was superb, where has that interest gone?
The less excuses and more arses on seats for key games like last night, the less people will criticise Souths.
