Because those games boosted your average perhaps?

If those games were boosting our average, wouldn't that mean you or the dragons would have drawn higher crowds at some point during the season?

If you are the big crowd drawers then you'd surely be pulling in big numbers all the time, not just when you play the roosters

No, it means that two big Sydney crowds drew together and produced a bigger crowd. Hence a couple 40k crowds. Roosters have had a great draw for pulling in big numbers, it's that simple. They've also been pulling great numbers on their own, but the numbers will naturally even out over the course of the season when less desirable matches are played out

Souths have had four home games, two against interstate teams, one against the spooners and one against Sharks who have the second worst away attendance in the league. The fact we are still hovering around 20.5k is pretty good IMO

Nothing special about Dragons attendance this year. I'm guessing the ANZAC match was mostly Roosters, but was probably boosted in general by being a special event itself. A bit like the Easter Show game

We got a much bigger crowd against the Storm than you did.

And yet our average is higher than both the teams you claim boost our average.

Are you seriously trying to argue that Roosters weren't advantaged by hosting the Anzac Day clash and Round 1 Season opener this year?

Anyway well done Roosters for 19k yesterday. Hope you all continue to get out and support your team.

That's rubbish from dragons and manly fans. Perfect night not even that cold

11k at Brookie isn't good but you'd have to think many fans would have made other plans based on the appalling weather leading into the weekend. It was bucketing down less than 24hrs before the game. On top of that, there were about 10 Canberra fans in attendance.

Don't often criticise HQ but 6 games in one city in one round is stupidity. How is any game supposed to get airtime to be promoted properly with this saturation. What's more in a league where every game is broadcast it only serves to encourage people to sit in front of the tv. 2 games on a friday, 3 on a Saturday night and 1 MNF. Not one daylight game across 6 games is embarrasing to say the least
