9600 in Mudgee, which is more than the entire population of the Township itself

More regular season regional games? Yes please!

Having a country/regional round (8 teams taking one of their home games to a regional area) is far better than the embarrassment called City-Country Origi.

9,132 the official attendance at Mudgee. Nearly the same as the number of residents in Mudgee (9,830 according to the 2011 census).

Excellent crowd when you consider that a game played in an area which looks like Cessnock nearly drew as many fans as a match in a city of over one million (Auckland)

Unless the Sharks/Rabbitohs game tomorrow night draws around 22,000 then this round will fall below a total of 100,000.

It will be the first time since R13 in 2010 that a full round (8 games) has failed to top a 100,000.

How much did that round get? If it was close to 100k I reckon this round won't beat that. It'll be closer to 90k. Could be our worst full round in a longtime. Maybe even the worst in the 8 game per round era.

I don't understand why you post this so often like it makes per capita irrelevant. If anything it just shows how f*cking amazing cowboys crowds have been over the years.

The argument is irrelevant, and only raised by the innumerate to denigrate the best attended club in the comp. And yes, the Cows are awesome.

The Tigers on the other, this week, weren't. Clearly.

A smarter draw would go a long way to solve some of the issues with crowds. This round being a prime example of lacking smartness (the Mudgee game and Roosters being the exception)

IMO each club should have 1 or 2 staple slots for 6-8 of their home games based on the demography and geography of the club. An obvious case is the Titans who this season play a disproportionate number of games sunday arvo slots, which really doesn't suit the gold coast which is very much a lifestyle city.

I am confident the current administration with its new structure focusing on key areas with unique management positions will learn these lessons and move the game forward.

If the NRL swapped a few of GC's Sunday timeslots for our Friday night matches, both clubs would be very happy.
