After 8 rounds (64 games), we are tracking for our biggest crowd total. The game average of 18,268 is our highest after 8 rounds in any year, beating 2008 when we averaged 18,044. Last year we were averaging 17,797 at this point.

So what - The means an extra 469 people have attended compared to last year. It is just the way you spin it. The NRL is doing a good job of killing suburban grounds to go the way of the AFL two stadium policy. Sunday afternoon games should all be at suburban grounds.

Er no its 471 extra per game. Thats a big increase. You can't spin in it any other way.

and you evidence of this? Sunday afternoon should be for the big Sydney blockbuster every week at ANZ or Allianz. Should be aiaming for 30k every sunday. Stick the Monday night games at suburban grounds, after all isn't that the point of having them on your doorstep so you don't have to travel very far?

Rabbitohs V Cowboys 24k
Tigers V Sharks 15k
Parra V Broncos 10.5k
Warriors V Bulldogs 25k
Canberra V Newy 12k
Titans V Dragons 16k
Penrith V Storm 9.5k
Manly V Roosters 14k

Mix of good and bad, not sure what to expect for the Tigers V Sharks game.

Is it possible for a game in NZ (a non-NRL city) to out draw all other games?

I expect a few more than 24K to turn up for Souths v Cows. Anything under 30K means Souths members can't be arsed going to see them play

Bunnies deserve a crowd similar to the Melbourne game.

They claim to have 25,000 members. Any knowledge of how many are actually ticketed?

Pretty sure every team in the NRL minus the Broncos would get less than 30k.. way to hold us to a different standard

We'll get 20k+ but holding us to a different standard to everyone else is ridiculous. Some people are claiming we must get 30k. Brisbane doesn't even get 30k against some out of state teams. And they have just about as many members as us.

20k is 20k. Whether we get it or whether small clubs like the riff or easts get it. Putting an artificial handicap on us is unfair.

So is claiming unticketed members as 'members'.

If scheduled correctly Brisbane could have gotten way bigger crowds and average well into the late thirties early forties.

I am someone who actually would prefer Souths to do well (over any other Sydney club) - but - if your club is going to say look at us and our 25,000 members back it up with crowds never any less than 25k. Unless diabolical weather.

Brisbane has had 13 sub-30k crowds since the start of the 2009 season, none of them under 20k. Less than 25% of their crowds are under 30k. 0% of them are under 20k in that time frame.

Souths...?

Why should they need to do that? Their 25K memberships brings in a sh*tload of revenue to the club. I don't see why they should need to average 25K+ crowds to be able to boast about that.

There is a lot of jealousy and sour grapes in this thread when really souths should be congratulated.

I have no sour grapes about Souths - a few weeks ago i was praising their 32k v Storm crowd.

I dont give a rats arse about how much revenue they make.

So calm your farm and look at this with logic and understand this:

If Souths have 25k members we should never see a crap crowd.
