It's bucketing down here in Brissie (my part thereof, anyway) at the moment, and showers/rain are forecast all the way out to Sunday at the moment. Here's hoping that enough tickets have been sold to the rain-shy in advance.

Yes - crap weather today - wont be a good day of sales. The only saving grace it hoping that all people will understand that the majority of the seats left are undercover.

Not for me. I live on the Central Coast and reaching Allianz and finding a parking spot in time, during Friday peak, is just not something I want to deal with.

Not when the atmosphere is likely to be nasty between fans there, not when there'll be everyone booing SBW, and not when prices are f**king ridiculous, not only to attend but to park.

And public transport wouldn't do the trick either. I'm happy watching this one on Nine.

Man up you pansy

Quite understandable. I was more refering to Dogs/wanderers fans and their choice of fixture

Roosters vs Dogs would have got 40K as a day game IMO.

As its a night game though mixed with all the bullshit in the papers stirring up how bad the dogs fans are going to be I can see a fair few people staying home instead.

I'll be there no matter what, although I already know of a few people who aren't that keen (both dogs fans and roosters fans) because they want to avoid any trouble while trying to get home after the game.

I expect Easts-Dogs to get 40k+

No you don’t

You expect it to get way less than that and you can’t wait until it does so you can stick the boot in and continue your bizarre roosters crowds vendetta that you have going this season.

on Sportsline on Fox this morning Massoud was calling it a disgrace that the SBWvDogs game was "only" going to get 30k. For where we are at with crowd sizes in RL I consider anyithing 30k+ a great result.

If it was a normal club game, I would think most would choose the Dogs v Roosters, but it is a finals for the Wanderers.

Yep and the fact most Bulldog supporters wouldn't bother trying to get to Moore Park on a friday night from the Cantebury/Bankstown and surrounding areas... To say it's a hassle is an understatement. Sunday and the game would've sold out (Obviously minus the SCG Trust members).

Actually suprised Melb v Souths is on the Saturday night, really those two games should have been swapped around. I think Bulldogs v Roosters on a saturday night would have got 35K+ easy cause it's not as easy to access it on TV. I suppose when they did the fixed schedule, they had no way of knowing what would happen with the Wanderers.

Its not that bad timmah. Train it from Gosford to central, express buses to and from the stadium, or you can walk and get on the piss at the pubs on the way! So why have you said public transport isn't the go??

I live on the northern part of wyong shire and work in northern Newcastle but I will be there.

very soft post by you there

Channel 9 didn't exactly take into account crowd figures when they chose which games they wanted. SBW v Bulldogs was always going to be their first pick of the week

This really is the kind of round the nrl should be plugging the f**k outta all week. 4 fixtures that have the potential to break 30k (that would have to be a first right?) but 3 of them may well end up in the mid to high 20s

I don't understand why every game at Allianz/ANZ hasn't been given special event status with public transport integrated into the ticketing. Fans should be encouraged to take public transport at every opportunity, especially to FNF

Just got a GA ticket for Friday night, Pax number 8294. Not sure what to read into that, not a massive pre-sale but when you add SCGT members and our season tickets i'm thinking 25k after walk-ups.

IMO if it breaks 30k I would be very surprised as excluding round 1, it is very rare.

I know all grounds are different, but the Suncorp PAX includes the members.

Broncos tickets actually picked up today a bit - will be interesting to see how tomorrow goes.

3 Sections of blue sold - Blue will move into single seats today (along with gold, maroon and away support bay)
2.5 sections of white o sell out before it moves up to the top teir - then white unlicenced - 708 will go on sale.

I would assume pax right now is roughly 39.5 - 40k - if it continues like today it should manage 45k.. Worried given the weather.

Stay confident, the Brisbane crowd always loves this clash and they will turn out in good numbers even in poor weather.

It will be considered a successful crowd if it beats last years figure for the same fixture. This will also prove that it isn't necessary for it to be always in round one.

As a NQ supporter, it has always been a nuisance to me that we have to play away in round one. More as a matter of principle of course, because the wet season is a terrible time for games in Townsville.

Yeah if its between 43k (last year) and 45k -2011, I think its a success.

I remember the 2007, and 2008 -> 50ks and it makes me a bit sad haha.

2010 48.5k was a ripper too.

The thing i find interesting is the 2008 was a few rounds in too - and it was 50,612 - broncos has won the first two, and cowboys had lost the first two.

Shouldn't you want a heap of games away during all this wet weather - by the sounds of it the rest of this week will be brutal for you guys up there.

I think the only weekend that would make it good for NTH QLD people to travel down would be easter weekend - but flights would destroy the budget.
