I work in Parra and will be getting to the game at the SFS on Friday.

All you need is a bit of desire and patience with the traffic... The cross city
tunnel is good value just don't take the exit for the eastern distributor...

Would rather gamble on the traffic on Saturday. Plus to be honest I actually am going to the track on Saturday- I don't want to be getting home near midnight (that is if I get a good run home too). The traffic is awful, it is an hour each way. At the end of the week, the last thing I want to do is spend 1 hour on the road at 10:30pm, I am dead tired.

Really and I have said it before, this game should not be in Sydney on a Friday night, give the Friday night games to Brisbane/GC.

Train to Central and buses leaving every 2 minutes is too much hassle.

I've heard it all now.

Not tomorrow, no there's not a will. Not with all the circumstances. Judge me all you like.

If it interests you, I'm still going to head to Newcastle for the 5:30pm Saturday game. I attended 3 games on the Easter weekend and 2 last weekend. I'll still be going to the ANZAC Day game and Canterbury's match with Cronulla in Gosford... if I can't be arsed going to a game in a location that I don't believe is worth it, that's my choice.

A lot of people on this forum dont seem to understand the real challenges of getting to and from games.

Going to my first game at Brookie this weekend. Looking forward to it - catching the CSSC Bus of Dreams to the game.

Hopefully I'm not too rooted from Tough Mudder on the Saturday.
Wish I was doing that again, did the September version, great fun. Good Luck

If you don't work in the city, what is your plan there, and don't tell me public transport! The trains are useless, they never are on time!

You finish at 5:30-6pm, to even get to the city that wouldd be 7:30, not to the ground, just to the city. Waste of time, would rather just get home and go to the Saturday night game

I finish at 5 actually, but I do the paperwork before I go home. Plus because I drive I actually don't mind staying back and doing the paperwork. Work is work, and it comes before a game, especially one that is in an awful timeslot.

It is sad that any talk about the crowd for Easts v Canterbury, they have to mention something about crowd behavior, fair enough Canterbury has copped it in the past, but in the last few years Canterbury has greatly improved crowd behavior, I am sure the talk of badly behaving Canterbury fans may be turning families away. It is a shame that a crowd that should be 30-35k+ will probably only get 25k

What does that suggest in terms of tickets sold?

I would say roughly 42k

Ill have a pax soon - strategically choosing tix for my mates.

Horrible morning here in Brisbane. Coastal showers coming in - meant to be all day, if it didn't rain intermittently pretty much all week, 47k would have been a massive potential.

As they are only small (but heavy) showers id say 45k still up there with a chance.

Saturday night game would be way better - would get so many more people travelling in from Toowoomba ect.

Joke of an article in the tele today claiming both friday and saturday night where expecting 40k and comparing the potential crowds to the wanderers match sold out in a 20k stadium and the swans v geelong in a few weeks!

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...spectator-stakes/story-e6frexr9-1226618599866

Anyone who thinks the roosters and rabbits games this week where expecting 40k is delusional and doesn't know the game, they would write anything to sell a newspaper it seems.

Disappointing that several media outlets have focused on potential crowd trouble and not the match itself. Also marketing for round games has to improve from hq, the clubs are not capable of doing it themselves for one reason or another. Just look at the afl adds on FTA and Fox every day advertising games a couple of weeks away and the weekend coming.

My expectation is tonight to scrape 25k with 30k being the roof for this fixture in this timeslot. Lets face it Allianz will never get regular 30k+ crowds on a friday night as in the eyes of sydneysiders (and i think they are wrong) there are too many obstacles in getting to the game.

Souths v Storm i expect to get 21-22k which considering souths average against out of town teams is a fantastic result.
