Plus it doesn't clash with AFL in Melbourne.

This bring a mate for free promotion has worked tonight. Very enjoyable game too, hopefully they all come back.

So my formula was slightly off. I meant to say appearance + 667 = actual. Obviously.

Seriously though, that's a great crowd for Melbourne any day of the week. Against a usually so so drawing team.

Honestly if it is a dry night Souths v Melbourne needs at least 20k. Come on Souths fans get out there!

Exactly the reason MNF should be on at aami park, sfs, suncorp wherever possible. Stones throw from the city and 7pm kick off makes it easy after work.

I don't think that principle works 100% for sydney.

For one team towns like Brisbane & Melbourne that's great.

excellent Melbourne crowd incentives the storm did tonight should apply to all monday night games e.g. buy ticket and one free can increase mnf crowds easily.

Well done Melbourne, good to see an initiative to fill the ground on our traditional graveyard time slot.

$40 family tickets for Souths v Melbourne. Weather seems to be awesome too, Sunny with a maximum of 26 degrees predicted.

Minimum 20k.

As for the rest of the round.

Broncos v Cowboys - 44K
Roosters v Bulldogs - 28k
Knights v Panthers - 19k
Raiders v Warriors - 11k
Sea Eagles v Sharks - 16k

but it's at Olympic Park.

I go to more of Souths' away games than i do home games.........seriously! in fact, the only Olympic Park matches I attended last year were the Canberra & Canterbury finals they played there. Every other match was a Sydney metro away game.

Over the shit hole.

dont start a circle jerk.

the 2 for 1 promotion was what got the punters in last night.

Great work to give Melbournians a taste of the NRL - could be a first for a couple of thousand. Now the hard work to get them coming back begins.

Did they enjoy it? Will they be back again?

2 for 1 on Mondays has been on offer for the last couple of seasons, but this is the first time it's had any noticeable effect on crowds. Might be because it's school holidays, and the club's social media team has put a lot of effort into promoting the 2 for 1 offer this time.

Still 18k is a good result for any Storm game, let alone on a Monday!

Daz, they seem to enjoy it. They mainly spoke about the hits, the Robbie Farah and Billy Slater scuffle and Gareth Widdops knee. Funnily enough we were talking about it again at lunch and another bloke said he was a member of the storm and he was there also.

Some guys who didnt know anything about the game last night quickly turned the conversation back to afl though.
