Just read the Tele article. One of the worst I've ever seen. Predicting 35k for swans and 21.5k for a league. Both of these numbers are over current capacity. They have then posted the worst case estimates on the league crowds 20k and 22k. Casual readers will see these graphics and assume they are actual numbers not guesses.

They also don't mention 51k for good Friday. 40k for anzac day and over 30k for roosters v rabbitsn

anyone expecting 40K for a Souths V Storm game is in need of a bex & a good lie down

you'd barely get that many to a prelim final between the 2 at ANZ let alone a club match
seriously some of the crap written by RL journos in Sydney defies belief

the crack at the other game is fair enough , as anything under 30K will simply not be good enough .
I mean with all the moaning & whaling from dogs fans about SBW for the last 5 years .. it seems few will be bothered to show up & give it to him in a game against them.

all talk this mob
I hope the Roosters give em a drubbing of epic proportions & Sonny crosses for 3 tries ....

Hang on, someone somewhere expected 40,000 fans for the Souths v Melbourne game? Who the f**k is this person? There's only been what, three matches that have attracted over 40,000 for a regular season game at homebush? And two of those were farewell games and the other was two weeks ago!
Over 20,000 will be great for the match. 25,000+ would be excellent.

Roosters vs Bulldogs should be getting 30,000.

And the article is complete shit. How would anyone know Williams is 'privately angry'? If he was privately angry he hasn't told anyone.

Hang on... Reality is Bulldogs are 1 from 5. Reality is most Bulldog supporters don't care about the SBW factor; it's been a media beat up not a Bulldog fan base beat up! Yeah he'll get boo'd but big deal!

Reality is the media ALL WEEK have been talking about violence at the game etc because of 2004... We've come a long way since then, talk about scaring off people!!!

Reality is it's pathetic that the Bulldogs are being singled out because we're not travelling in the numbers everyone wants us to for this game!! Friday night at the SFS is not the most appealing prospect… Play this at ANZ and we wouldn't need any Roosters supporters there to get 30K, maybe the Roosters should look at themselves???

Anyways I'm still predicting a crowd of over 25K and atleast 10K of them will be Bulldog supporters... Not bad. You were never going to get 20,000 bulldog supporters going to the SFS especially for a Roosters home game, maybe the Rossters should've offered our members a discount?

If you don't work in the city, what is your plan there, and don't tell me public transport! The trains are useless, they never are on time!

Garbage

City rail cops a lot of flack but it is nowhere near as bad as people make out. I catch the train every day to and from the city and the train would have been more than a couple minutes late on about 5 occasions in 3 years.

As for people saying Saturday night is a better timeslot, it is up there with Monday as our worst drawing, Friday and Saturday have always drawn better for us.

No mention of Tigers v Dragons in the article, therefore it must be selling well but doesn't suit their agenda.

A break in the weather out here on the bayside at the moment, but according to the radar there is plenty more to come.

Happy that my seats tonight are undercover :)

Is the sun out completely over there VOR?
I just had lunch at the Barracks and there seemed like a few people starting already down Caxton st! Lets hope there is sun around 4pm, an arvo like yesterday would force a mass rock up!

If it rains like it did earlier, ill be soaked haha.

You can respond to Ritchie's crowds comments and I have done so awaiting whether it will be printed.
The usual AFL sycophants are having their usual puerile shots at the code.

Raining very heavily in northern Brisbane at this moment. A mate traveling down from the Sunshine coast on the train said that there was far less than there was for the storm game, at the same time.

Doesn't look like there is any afl games in nsw this weekend

So I dunno what the tele is referring to

Just that merkin Ritchie trying to push his NRL is anti-media agenda

Lack of marketing and refusal from clubs to co-operate with the media are being blamed as partially responsible for the sluggish figures. Rival sports are now taking full advantage and attracting capacity crowds.

Trying to compare A-League finals and horse racing to NRL games, can't wait till this idiot goes away for good.

Game starts 30mins later now, as opposed to other home games this year.

Still should easily get more than the storm game.

Plus it was Good Friday.

I would have thought good friday would turn people away.. Having dinners with family ect.

Here is a further update of where Suncorp is at - storm crowd has been beaten easily - but we are hoping for a big rock up and the rain is ruining that.

Purple circle means unlicenced (half full)

Black lines 85% + full.

Purple arrow shows north/ east corner selling and slowly wrap the stadium, will have pax very soon.
